ARGOS Upgrade to MAPS Version 4 - Argos Version 4.2 (12/22/13) We have installed a new version of Argos (12/22/13). This new version 4.2 can be used with Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) or above, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. It can also be used with Safari and Google Chrome on the ipad or Mac. This new version also requires java. The elauncher uses Java to copy the client application from the MAP server to your PC. Your PC must have Java installed in order to download any Evisions applications. It is very likely that you have java already on your machine but in case your machine does not have java then it can be downloaded at http://bantest.eiu.edu/. At the bottom of the bantest.eiu.edu page you will see (Java Plugin Install for IE9 and above). Argos 4.2 introduces a new way to run dashboards and reports the Argos Web Viewer. Available to all Argos users, it does not require you to download and run the Argos client; instead, the Web Viewer loads directly in your favorite browser. This allows it to run on a wide variety of platforms, including tablets. While it does not replace the Argos client for DataBlock and report development, the streamlined user interface gives fast, easy access to the reports and dashboards you need. Using Web Viewer to launch Argos. 1. Type: https://argos.eiu.edu/argos/awv into your web browser. 2. Enter your login user ID and Password. 3. Web Viewer Home Page. Click Help for an interactive tutorial, an online help guide, or continue reading the following instructions to use Argos Web Viewer.

4. There are now 4 ways to find the report you are looking for. a. Search enter the name of the report and click Search or hit Enter. (Enter a name or partial name to locate folders, reports, and DataBlocks that match your search terms). b. Explorer Click Explorer then a folder and drill down to the reports you are seeking. You can see your current location by looking at the breadcrumb trail at the top of the screen. Click on any folder in the breadcrumb to jump to that location. Mouse over the breadcrumb to show a drop-down list of that element's subfolders. ipad users must tap and hold on the breadcrumb to view the dropdown menu. Once you have found your report. o o o Click on a DataBlock to execute that DataBlock's dashboard. The Details button shows the reports underneath the DataBlock, and additional information about that DataBlock. Use the star button to create a shortcut to a DataBlock or report.

c. Shortcuts Click Shortcuts then click on a saved shortcut to run that report. d. Recent Click on Recent then click on a report that has been recently ran. 5. Click on Settings to set your Home Folder. Argos allows you to set a folder as your "home" folder, which is the default folder that opens when you log in to Argos. By default, the home folder is the root folder. Specifying a home folder other than the root can save time if you are usually running DataBlocks and reports in a particular folder. a. To set the Home Folder first follow the Breadcrumb Trail to the folder you wish to use as your home folder. Then click on Settings on the Web Viewer Home Page. The User Home folder is automatically populated by the program. Click Set Home to set your default folder. Argos can also be launched using the previous processes from the last upgrade (11/11/12). You may already be familiar with these processes. Report Launching will be different. E-visions integrated the Dashboard feature as part of Datablock. Now you can select and Launch Datablock/reports directly from dashboard (if you have multiple reports for one datablock) and you can also save the parameters for your frequent reports. Also new in this version of Argos QuickLaunch has been renamed to ShortCuts. They work the same but you can create your own folders and add shortcuts to those folders for better organization.
