ARGOS Upgrade to MAPS Version 4 - Argos Version 4.2 (12/22/13) We have installed a new version of Argos (12/22/13). This new version 4.2 can be used with Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) or above, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. It can also be used with Safari and Google Chrome on the ipad or Mac. This new version also requires java. The elauncher uses Java to copy the client application from the MAP server to your PC. Your PC must have Java installed in order to download any Evisions applications. It is very likely that you have java already on your machine but in case your machine does not have java then it can be downloaded at http://bantest.eiu.edu/. At the bottom of the bantest.eiu.edu page you will see (Java Plugin Install for IE9 and above). Argos 4.2 introduces a new way to run dashboards and reports the Argos Web Viewer. Available to all Argos users, it does not require you to download and run the Argos client; instead, the Web Viewer loads directly in your favorite browser. This allows it to run on a wide variety of platforms, including tablets. While it does not replace the Argos client for DataBlock and report development, the streamlined user interface gives fast, easy access to the reports and dashboards you need. Using Web Viewer to launch Argos. 1. Type: https://argos.eiu.edu/argos/awv into your web browser. 2. Enter your login user ID and Password. 3. Web Viewer Home Page. The User Home folder is automatically populated by the program. Click Set Home to set your default folder. Argos can also be launched using the previous processes from the last upgrade (11/11/12).
