1 Summary This document presents the deliverable D5.2.1 Project Internet Site, Publications of the ExtremeFactories project, which summarizes some of the work realized under task T5.1. Dissemination, specifically those activities related to the Web-Site of the project. This report serves as a short documented overview of the ExtremeFactories Web-Site s requirements and capabilities. It does not discuss any of the project s research topics or activities. Firstly, the document presents a set of requirements for the ExtremeFactories Web-Site as identified by the project partners. Secondly, it shows the Web-Site implementation details, presenting the following aspects: Technical Specifications, Structure Description, ExtremeFactories logo and Sections of the project Web-Site. It must be remarked that the Project s Web-Site is subject to changes along the life of the project. EFF_D5.2.1_Project Internet Site and Publications_v1.0.docx Page 5 of 17

2 Introduction The ExtremeFactories project has been launched on September 1, 2011 and it will run for 30 months. Starting November 1, 2011, the project s progress is documented and publicly available on a Web-Site at http://www.extremefactories.eu 2.1 Document Purpose This report serves as a short documented overview of the ExtremeFactories Web-Site s requirements and capabilities. It does not discuss any of the project s research topics or activities. This is the first revision of this document, delivered in month 6 of the project. A second version will be reported on month 18, presenting the project Web-Site update. A final revision will be provided on month 30 of the project. IMPORTANT NOTE! Please note that the Dissemination Level of the Web Page is Public, but the present deliverable is restricted (RE) since it provides technical information about the implementation of the site. 2.2 Approach Applied The document describes the main requirements (functional and technical) for the webpage and explains the design decisions taken to fast deploy the Web-Site. 3 Requirements This Section describes the requirements of the ExtremeFactories Web-Site as identified by the project partners in a requirements analysis. These requirements are the basis for the design specification and the resulting implementation. 3.1 Technical Requirements Table 1 - Technical requirements Audit Trail Technology Used Web-Site Statistics Security Privileges Hosting E-mail forwarding All pages should have an audit trail to identify who last updated them, at what time and on what date. The use of a Content Management System is desirable, so all the partners, even non-rtd ones can update content at any time. Compatibility with HTML5 is desirable too. As a minimum, the Web-Site statistics should be provided in the form of number of access and number of documents downloaded. Only ExtremeFactories partners can modify the content of the site. External users will freely download documents and specific pieces of software when available. Hosting services will be required, adapted to the technologies selected for the design and deployment of the site. The domain extremefactories.eu has already been acquired and specific accounts have been created for each partnering RTD organisation, and one for each country (to be used by industrial partners): innopole@extremefactories.eu, atb@extremefactories.eu, c4ff@extremefactories.eu, vaibmu@extremefactories.eu, industryes@extremefactories.eu, industryde@extremefactories.eu, industryuk@extremefactories.eu, industryfi@extremefactories.eu All these addresses will be used for notification purposes, redirecting notifications to specific members of the team. 4 Implementation 4.1 Technical Specifications Table 2 - Technical specifications Hosting Development Technology Web-Site Statistics Database www.interdomain.es WordPress with PressWork.me All-in-one SEO plugin for WordPress. MySQL5 4.2 Structure Description This Section describes the structure of the ExtremeFactories Web-Site. It does not, however, specify the graphical appearance, i.e. the design, of the pages. Since the Web-Site, like the project, will evolve and grow over time as project outputs are added, the structure of the Web-Site is also flexible. The following subsections describe: 1. the structure of the initial Web-Site as it was launched immediately upon completion. 2. the expected and proposed structure of the Web-Site once more content has been added. Figure 1: Web-Site Structure EFF_D5.2.1_Project Internet Site and Publications_v1.0.docx Page 8 of 17

The initial Web-Site structure as depicted in Figure 1 which is explained as follows: 1. Blog: Home page of the site: It s periodically updated with information related to the project: forthcoming and past events, information related to the knowledge areas of the project, information about the partners, participation in conferences, publications, etc. 2. Project Overview: Summary of the project. Scientific & Technological Objectives 3. Partners: Short description of each partner in the consortium: Expertise, Role in the Project, Contact Data. 4. Downloads: Section for downloading the public deliverables of the project, as well as publications, papers, presentations, etc. 5. Join Us: Section for users to show their interest in the project through email or contacting through the social media tools. 6. Social Media: Links to Twitter, Facebook page and LinkedIn group. 7. Private Area: Link to the wiki/repository of the project, based on Confluence; accessible only to consortium members 8. Latest Tweets: section where the last tweets of the ExtremeFactories user (@xtremefactories) is shown. 9. Latest Blog Posts: section where the last posts of the ExtremeFactories blog user are shown. 4.3 ExtremeFactories Logo The web page of ExtremeFactories (www.extremefactories.eu) has been designed to offer up to date information about the project. Before proceeding to the design of the web page, the originally presented logo (as included in the Part B of the proposal) was redesigned. It was redesigned in order to be more representative than the previous existing one. The logo is formed by an imagotype representing a modern factory and a textual part. Figure 2 - ExtremeFactories logo Different layouts of the logo are used in the project: only the imagotype, imagotype + text (horizontal layout) imagotype + text (vertical layout).
