After clicking on the Log On button, you will see this screen. To log in simply enter your account number (your bar number if you are an attorney or your assigned number if you are not an attorney.) and your 4 digit pin. Once you have entered in both click on Submit. If you don t have a pin please see below. To request a new LINX account (attorneys only) click on this link, enter your bar number and submit your request to complete.

After successfully logging on you will notice That there is a My Account button available. click on this to change your account settings.

On this page you can view all of your account information such as your account number, address, email address, attorneys that can act on your behalf and legal support that can act on your behalf. Your Name To change your current pin To use an alternate address click here and enter it in the space provided. Your address Your Phone # Your email address P123456 JANE DOE P234567 JOHN DOE If you make any changes, be sure to click on the Submit button.

Calendar Tab This page allows you to view the Superior Court Criminal and Civil calendars. All of the scheduling is done roughly 3 weeks into the Future. The first step is to select the specific date on the calendar. The second step is to select the Calendar type.

Once you have selected the day and the calendar type, you will see the Docket for each department in descending numerical order. If you know the Judge that you are looking for you can select that specific department from the drop down menu. Links into the cases

Attorney Tab The Proceeding Calendar will be the first window that you see. The screen will look something like this screen. There are further instructions about the other tabs on the next few pages. You can check proceedings by entering a date range. To go into a particular case, click on The link. You are able to view proceeding info as well as confirm and strike proceedings from this page. You are only able to confirm proceedings 7 days ahead of time.

The Case Screen shows you a number of things. Case title, type, access type, Etc. The case litigants and attorneys are displayed with their type of involvement and current status. Under the litigants section, you will see all of the case filings. To view the filings click on the hyperlinked document title. If the document is not public access you may not be able to link to it.

If you look right above the filings you will see two buttons. The e-file documents button will take you to the e-filing tab and the download filings button which allows subscribers to download the case filings. (to see the download filings button demonstration go on to the next page, for the e-file document demonstration go to the E-File tab explanation.)

Downloading Filings To select specific documents to download click on the checkboxes next to the filing. When you have made all of your selections, scroll all of the way to the bottom of the page to click download. For convenience, you can select all and clear all documents by using the select all and clear all buttons.

When the download is complete, select Open. If you are using Windows XP, you will see this screen. Click on the Extract all files icon in the upper left corner. ** If you are not using Windows XP You may need to download Winzip or Some other extraction software.

Now that you have extracted the documents, you can view them by opening up the.htm file. It should be at the top and it will be named after the cause number. Double click on it and you will see the page that is shown on the next page.

You are now able to see all of the filings in the case along with their filing date, access type and the amount of pages the document contains. If you have downloaded the document, you are now able to view it by clicking on the link to the document. Click on the specific filing and you will bring the document up in Adobe Reader.

On this screen you will see all of your Pending Civil Case Schedule Items. They are ordered by Schedule Date. With the Schedule date you will also be able to view what Event it will be, the cause number and the case title. You can check Pending Civil Case Schedule Items by entering a date range.

From this screen, you are able to view all of the documents That have been filed within the given date range. For each filing you will be able to see the filing date, type, cause number and case title. You will also notice that the cause number is a link and by clicking on it you can go directly into the case.

This page shows any generic documents that you have recently filed, but have not yet been accepted by the clerks office. When the document gets accepted your document will automatically be removed from this page. Filings are accepted manually several times a day during operating hours (8:30 am 4:30 pm). If you file outside of operating hours it will not be accepted until the next business day. To view the document while it is pending you can click on the filing link. If you want to cancel a document while it is pending, click the cancel button to remove it. After canceling, the document will not be filed.

The Active Cases tab shows all of the cases that you are an active attorney on. * In Pierce County you are not automatically withdrawn from a case. To remove a case from your active case list you need to formally withdraw from it. You are able to link into each of your active cases by clicking on the cause number. The status of the case is listed at the right as well.

E-File Tab The first step of the e-filing process is selecting the type of filing that you are going to file. You will notice that your specific filing type may not be in the drop down list, just pick the closest type. name Now that you have selected your Filing Type, make sure That the name in the attorney section is correct. If you are Support staff that can file on behalf of several attorneys then You will have more than one name in your drop down list. The final entry is the cause number. If the Cause Number is not already filled in you would provide it in this space. Once you have filled in all of these fields click on the Continue button.

On this screen, you will see the information that we have Attained from the bar association. If you want to use a different Email address for notification or a different address you can Change it here. If the information is inaccurate you need to Inform the Washington State Bar Association. Once you are sure that everything is accurate, click continue

On this page you will upload the document that you are attempting to file. Click on the browse button, go to where You have saved the document on your computer and select It. Your document should now show up in the File Document field. Click the Upload Document button. (see next page)

If you would like to remove the document at any time, click on the delete key. Now that you have successfully uploaded the Lead Document, you have the option to add any attachments that go with this document. This is meant for items like exhibits and such, if you have a separate document you need to repeat the e-filing process separately. To add an attachment document, click the Browse button like with the previous document. Once you have it selected hit the Upload Document button. Repeat this for all of your attachments and click continue when you are ready to file.

Lead Document Attachment Certify that this document is true and correct and Then click on the submit button.

You now have the option to serve other parties, file another document and view the case. If you would To learn more about serving other copies After submitting your document you will get this page telling you the exact time that the filing occurred, the e-mail address that will receive confirmation and the confirmation number.

The email that is sent will provide the recipient A link to the case where they can view the filing This page allows you to electronically serve other attorneys involved in the case. To select them to be served you just click on the check box next to their name and verify that the email listed next to them is accurate. (If you have arranged to serve other parties at an alternate address you can add it in the text box.

Search Tab The search tab is used to retrieve cases 00-1-00001-0 If you know the cause number, you can just enter it in the Cause Number area and click on the Search button.

If you don t know a specific cause number, you can search by litigant name. To narrow down the search you need to provide a range in years and a Case Type.

Reports Tab This page is a work in progress, future developments are planned so Check back periodically.

Comment Tab The Comments page allows you to contact us with comments, questions or any problems you may be having. First, fill in your name, email and the cause number (if it is needed). Second, insert your comment(s) and click on send to complete the process.

If you are filing a pattern form document then this process is going to be a bit different. For this process you will start by selecting the exact document that you are trying to file and inserting the rest of the necessary information before you click continue. Pattern Documents include: Note for Judges Motion Calendar, Note for Commissioners Calendar, Note for Trial Setting, Notice of Appearance, Notice of intent to withdraw, Confirmation of Service, Confirmation of Service parties served.

From this screen you will specify the type of hearing, the date of the hearing and all of the other parties who need to be notified. Added parties will be added to the document only, not to the case itself. You will see that opposing attorneys are listed automatically. Click on Continue when you are ready to continue.

This page will list the opposing party s name and if they are an attorney it will show the address that they have registered with the Washington State Bar Association. However, if you have received information from the other party about addressing then you should use that address. This addressing will only appear on the document, it will not change the court records.

Now you have completed the document, to view it you can click on the document link. Once you are satisfied with the document click on the checkbox to certify that Everything is correct.
