( Elite ) has been in business for more than 25 years providing a full complement of services including general contracting, construction management, design build, and project management, for clients in the public and private sector, including many Fortune 100 companies. Elite offers an experienced, diverse team that is skillful and knowledgeable, a huge edge that the company attributes to its success. The company is also a member of the Canada Green Building Council, the Toronto Construction Association, the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA), the Ottawa Contractors Association, as well as the Kingston Construction Association. This month, Enrico Lisi, company president, spoke with The Canadian Business Journal about Elite and its exciting list of projects in the works as well as its focus on industry developments. Accordingly, the company has completed many projects under Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification. A focus on quality has played a significant role in Elite s growth across the Greater Toronto Area, and now all of Ontario, as well as the construction industry as a whole. Committed to safety in the workplace, Elite promotes innovative labour training and processes. The company lives by the motto, Safety first, last, and always. Project portfolio Projects range from social infrastructure, healthcare, institutional, courts, jails, data centres, pre- and post-secondary learning facilities, commercial, retail, sports venues, civil infrastructure, and, recently, high-rise residential. Elite does it all and has a good cross section in its portfolio. Currently, Elite is involved in several projects. Among that group is a project for the City of Toronto, completing a community centre hub to host a range of governmental ministries and community programs, based at Panorama Court. Today, about 13 permanent tenants are located

Another project in the works is with Via Rail, developing a new train station in nearby Cobourg, Ont. Elite will add a modernized station parallel to the existing rail line. The transformation includes a new island platform and a new overhead footbridge, as well as the addition of elevators for
APRIL 2012 The Canadian Business Journal 9 Mabin School improved accessibility. The project offers improved capacity to meet future traffic demands. Thirdly, Elite is completing a project at Toronto s West Don Lands, completing civil infrastructure work in what will be the site of the athletes village of the 2015 Pan American Games, hosted in Toronto. Another Toronto-based project is a new campus for Collège Boréal, located in downtown Toronto at Yonge and Front Streets. The new campus project will open this year, offering a new, modernized campus of an estimated 47,000 square feet, more than double the size of the existing facility. The added space allows the college to offer more majors and programs. Also underway is a project with Public Works and Government Services Canada, where Elite is completing a 96-bed maximum security housing facility at Collins Bay Institution of Kingston, Ont. Elite has recently completed several projects, including the Women s College Hospital, on Grenville Street in downtown Toronto. The facility

Elite has also completed a project at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga.
