Step 1. Define a Test Plan DUT (SP9T Switch) 10-port DUT. SP9T (Single-pole, 9-throw, one-input and 9-outputs) switch. S-parameter measurement on all paths out of the 10-port DUT. The connected output port is determined by 4-bit logic control signals to Vc1 to Vc4 input. Step 1. Define a Test Plan Measurement with ENA Multiport Solution Single connection with the 4-port ENA & E5092A Configurable Multiport Test Set. DC control voltage can be applied from the E5092A, enabling synchronous S-parameter measurement. Power supply of the DUT (Vdd) can be applied from internal DC source in E5092A. Measurement Wizard Assistant (MWA) software offers simplified measurement procedure. Step 2. Create a Setup File 2-1. Launch MWA Front-End Application Run the MWA Front-end application ( mwa_xxxx.xls ). 1. Copy the MWA Front-End application Copy mwa_xxxx.xls in your PC. Launch by double-clicking. 2. Enable Excel Macro Click Options.. on Security Warning tab. Select either Enable this contents or Trust all documents from this publisher. Note: The latest revision of the MWA can be downloaded at: http://www.agilent.com/find/mwa Note: Microsoft Excel 2007 is required to operate the Front-end application of the MWA with rev.1.11.

Select [E5092A X10-Port] of 10-port full crossbar configuration with E5092A. 2. Measurement connectivity matrix is automatically updated. 3. Select [Single] for the DUT ports 3. Step 2. Create a Setup File 2-4. Mode setup Define the operation mode of DUT. Select control bit (High or Low) and corresponding DC voltage of internal DC sources in the E5092A for operation mode of DUT. 1. Enter name of DUT s operation mode 3. Setup High/Low bits for control line 2. Turn on this mode by double-clicking the cell Mode sheet of the MWA Front-end Application 4. Step 2. Create a Setup File 2-6. Spec Sheet setup Input all the measurement parameters and specified values for the limit test by the Back-end application. To increase measurement paths in the mode: A) double-click in mode cell, or B) right-click in cells of stimulus parameters to show dialog box. A. Double-click in mode cell B1. Step 2. Create a Setup File 2-7. Output setup Generate a spec sheet (*.mwa) including all setup parameters for measurement. 1. Identify required number of channels and traces on the ENA. (Max 45 channels and 7 traces) Note: The MWA automatically allocates in channels or traces of the ENA, and the list of allocation is updated in this sheet. 2. Set the max number of channels and traces available on the ENA. (ex. 72 Ch, 9 Tr, 401 Points ) 3. Generate and save a spec sheet (*.mwa) : 1 1 Output sheet of the MWA Front-end Application
Step 3. Perform Measurement 3-1. Instrument setup Setup the ENA & E5092A Configurable Multiport Test Set. 1. Connect ENA & E5092A Connect adaptors on the ENA Connect the ENA & E5092A with semi-rigid cables 2. Setup 10-port full crossbar configuration with the E5092A Connect semi-rigid cables on the E5092A 10-port full crossbar configuration of the ENA & E5092A Note: For more details on connection between the E5071C & E5092A, see FAQ How can I get the accessories (cables and adaptors) for measurement setup of the ENA & the E5092A?.
Step 3. Perform Measurement 3-2. Launch the Back-End Application Run the MWA Back-end application after the channel/trace setup of the ENA 1. Setup Channel/Trace on the ENA [System] > Service Menu > Channel/Trace Setup > 72 Ch / 9 Tr 401 Points Select the appropriate channel/trace setup based on the maximum required channels or traces (See Output sheet of the Front-end application.) 2. Copy the MWA Back-End application Copy mwa_xxxx.vba to the directory of ENA. (*1) Copy a spec sheet (*.mwa) generated by Front-end application. 3. Select and launch the MWA Back-End application [Macro Setup] > Load Project > Select mwa_xxxx.vba [Macro Run] *1: When saved under D VBA of the ENA, the Back-end application can be directly launched by [Macro Setup] > Load & Run > mwa_xxxx
