1.0 The Conception FO 19" 3HE Access networks in ring or star architecture typically require high fiber-count cables in order to keep the whole network passive. The distribution and connection of different customers or operators is shown in the picture below. Ring architecture (network topology): A network structure with a closed ring structure. In most cases a second ring is added ( FDDI) to avoid a complete breakdown in the event of damage on the ring (e.g. during construction work). If there is an interruption on the ring, operation can continue on the second line in the opposite direction from the last station on. Star architecture (network topology): A network topology in which peripheral nodes are connected to a central node, which manages the communication between the individual peripheral nodes. The central node is also called star coupler or hub. WAN network structure 1000 optical fibers Primary access network WAN/MAN 200 to 1000 optical fibers LAN network strucuture Secondary access network MAN/LAN 100 to 200 optical fibers Hardware components face similar demands in the different LAN/MAN/WAN networks, regardless of their operational fields. High packing density, ease of servicing, modularity to allow future upgrades and network modifications these are the customers' demands on technology. LAN: Stands for Local Area Network MAN: Stands for Metropolitan Area Network WAN: Stands for Wide Area Network) For further information please refer to the Technical Description Patch Panels R&M provides a wide range of passive components for LAN, MAN, and WAN networks. 2.0 The FiberModul The 19" 3U 8HP R&M Fiberliner has been designed to meet the specific demands of optical fiber connections in 19" distributors. The R&M FiberModul's typical operational field are PONs (passive optical networks) in public as well as private fiber-optic networks. The conceptual idea of the R&M FiberModul is to realise the necessary distribution among the main cables and the various branch cables in fiber-optic networks. Thanks to its modular design the R&M FiberModul offers maximum system independence in WAN and LAN applications. It characterizes by it s modular buildup. The main part is the Mastermodul which can be assembled with a splice tray (radius 35mm) or a fiber optic splitter. The front plates are available from 5.HP, to 7HP and optionally with Extension clip from 7HP up to 8HP. The FiberModul is available with different front plates (E-2000, E-2000 Compact, SC, SC-RJ, SC-D, ST, FC, LC-D). The frontplates can be equipped with a maximum of fibers and are availabele in two types of material, plastic or metal. Every front plate has it s own labeling sheet, also every front plate has pre-numbered ports for easy identification. The disassembly, respectively the assembly of the front plates, in case of plug-/ adapter-cleaning, can be easily done with a simple handhold. Regarding cable entry and strain relief the R&M FiberModul offers two options: With a cabinet depth of 300 mm, and cable diameters of up to 10 mm, the incoming cable can be fastened to the 45 entry. With a cabinet depth of 00 mm, and cable diameters of up to 20 mm, the incoming cable can be fastened to the 45 or 90 entry. 3.0 The construction MasterModul downholder cross splice tray R35 cover of the splice tray front plate up to respectively adapter types (E-2000, E-2000 Compact, SC, SC-RJ, SC duz, ST, FC, LC duz).. 4.0 The modular principle Thanks to our international know-how in research, design and manufacturing our high-end products with best cost-performance payoffs prove their worth all over the world. The new FiberModul is based on a modular buildup and covers all 3HP variants, means Fiberliner, Connector modul and 4-Channel. Buildup: The FiberModul consists of a Mastermodul, which offers the acceptance of sundry front plates and one splice tray with a radius of 35mm, but it also offers a fiber reserve for pigtails and breakout cables when a preterminated solution is used. This buildup enables an individually assembly of the FiberModul, for example front plates 7HP in plastic or metal, frontplate 5.HP for all typical fiber optic adapters. By the use of the different front plates, the FiberModul can be integrated in differents R&M platforms (see 2.1), therefore a multiplicity of applications can be realized. 5.0 Description of the system 0 fibers 3HE 144 fibers 3HE LWL 19" 3HE Global- LWL 19" 3HE Global- Rack for max. 0 Rack for max. 144 fibers. fibers FiberModul 7HP with extension clip up to 8HP The FiberModul consists of the MasterModul, a replaceable front plate with adapters, a splice tray and the extension clip from 7HP to 8HP.
