1.3 Improvements The following tables list the improvements and indicate since which version the issue could be observed: Improvements of Firmware V2.80 Since V2.20 FSW8/FSW13: The limits of the reference level were not updated correctly after changing the preamplifier from 15 db to 30 db. This issue is solved. V2.70 Using the FFT in speed mode with a center frequency above 500 MHz, the noise representation of the readings up to 450 MHz was not flat. This issue is solved. V2.20 FSW-B160R/B512R: MSRT slave data was slightly misaligned in time, becoming more noticeable at smaller spans. This issue is solved. V2.00 FSW-B160R/B512R: Undo/Redo didn't undo/redo changes to the PvT sweep time. This issue is solved. V2.60 FSW-B160R/B512R: After opening and closing the Edit Frequency Mask dialog with External Trigger, the Trigger Source wouldn't be reset to External Trigger correctly. This issue is solved. V2.40 FSW-B512R: The zoomed area did not match the selection in the unzoomed diagram. This issue is solved. V2.40 FSW-B512R: Spikes and other artifacts may occur sometimes in the spectrum. This issue is solved. V2.40 FSW-K6: The segment length was inadvertently changed when the user modified the acquisition filter or bandwidth or activated the segment capture mode. In this case the desired segment length had to be re-entered by the user. This issue is resolved. V2.70 FSW-K7: The values of HP and LP filters were missing on hardcopies. This issue is solved. V1.70 FSW-K7: For very short measurement times (e.g. DBW 100 khz, Meas Time 104 us) the AM trigger level was instable. This issue is solved. V2.70 FSW-K18: Using iq-tar files as reference signal source is now working. V2.70 FSW-K18: In MultiView the results of the Parameter Sweep were unintentionally hidden. This issue is solved. V2.70 FSW-K18: All bandwidth toggle buttons are now displayed as expected for instruments with FSW-B2001 or FSW-B1200. V2.70 FSW-K18: When training the FSW-K18 equalizer, instead of the averaged I/Q data, only the last I/Q capture was used. This issue is solved. V2.70 FSW-K18: Improved appearance of spectrum trace for short result ranges. V2.70 FSW-K30: FSW8/13 with FSW-B24: The user interface did not show the preamp gain from the save set after recall, although the value was actually recalled and used. This issue is solved. V1.70 FSW-K54: Remote control: Using 6 traces and 8 limit lines lead to a SCPI error. This issue is solved. V2.72 FSW-K192/193: In some cases, remote operation was unresponsive after performing autolevel when no appropriate trigger was available. This issue is solved. V2.72 FSW-K91 802.11ax: Improved Timing Tracking (Sample Frequency Offset SFO compensation) in case of large sample clock errors. V2.70 FSW-K95: The gain Imbalance value in the result summary sometimes displayed an unrealistic value (in the range of -100 db) when looking at a single PPDU only. This issue is solved. V2.70 FSW-K544: ACLR Measurement: if using an S2P frequency correction file and noise cancellation in parallel, the traces reflect both corrections, but the ACLR readings did not take the frequency correction into account. This issue is solved. Release Notes 1173.9963.02-56 9

Improvements of Firmware V2.72 Since V2.70 FSW-K18: Using I/Q Average Count softkey from the Sweep menu sometimes got the I/Q averaging into an inconsistent state. This issue is solved. V2.70 FSW-K18: FSW-K18: It was not possible to train the FSW-K18 equalizer based on I/Q averaged data. Even when I/Q averaging was activated, the equalizer training was done only on the I/Q data of one I/Q recording. This issue is solved. 1.4 Known Issues The following table lists the known issues and indicates since which version the issue could be observed: since V1.81 If the additional software R&S DigIConf should be installed directly on the FSW, please use the version V03.01.009.30.Build220 SP1 or newer (Beta available upon request) older version may have data transfer problems or show white screens. The R&S DigIConf software might prevent windows to shut down occasionally. If this happens, please select "Force shut down" and confirm. V1.80 FSW-B160R: No full support of trigger outputs. "Device Triggered" mode for "Frequency Mask Trigger" is available for trigger output 3 only. V1.90 FSW-B160R: Auto Adjust functions are not available in MSRT mode. V2.40 FSW-B160R/B512R: Kaiser window not supported. If selected a Blackmann Harris window is applied. V2.40 FSW-B512R: For some resolution bandwidths a single sweep causes artefacts in the spectrum that are caused by the instrument itself. 2.80 FSW-B512R: Attenuation occurs further than 240MHz away from the center frequency in replay zoom. V2.20 FSW-B2000: In some situation after recalling a file with active B2000 configuration the connection to the R&S RTO is not established. Workaround: After the recall switching the B2000 state off and on again should solve the problem. V2.40 FSW-K6: The user can set a larger amount of segment data than is actually possible with certain RTO configurations (using FSW-B2000). In this case the lower number of available segments will be analyzed and a warning will appear in the status bar. V2.20 FSW-K6: The view trace behaves like a clear write trace. V1.41 FSW-K6: After aborting a measurement via SCPI (:ABORt) the status bar still shows "Measuring...". V1.41 FSW-K6: The following commands are not available: [SENSe:]FREQuency:CENTer:STEP [SENSe:]FREQuency:CENTer:STEP V1.51 FSW-K6: After recalling a Pulse channel which was saved after a RUN SINGLE operation, the RUN SINGLE button is lit but no measurement is running. V1.60 FSW-K10: Cumulating of Modulation Spectrum limits of carriers of a multicarrier BTS not supported for frequency offsets < 1.8 MHz of the outmost carrier. V2.10 FSW-K18: The 'BB I', 'BB Q' and 'BB IxQ' graph displays do accidently take reference level offsets that are set for the RF input into account. V2.60 FSW-K18: The SCPI command CONFigure:EQUalizer[:STATe] does not cause an auto-refresh of the measurement results when working in single sweep mode. As a workaround to force the refresh perform a run single (INIT:IMM) or change another setting that causes an auto-refresh back and forth (e.g. CONF:MOD OFF; CONF:MOD ON). V2.70 FSW-K18: Pressing softkey "Update DPD Tables on Generator" directly after starting the application may lead to a lock up of the instrument. V2.80 FSW-K18: When the ACLR result table is the only active measurement in FSW-K18 (all other measurement windows have been closed) and the MultiView mode of the FSW is active, the FSW-K18 is the only application that will be updated by the Sequencer in continuous mode. V2.70 FSW-K18: Markers are not available for Parameter Sweep measurements. V2.80 FSW-K18: Parameter Sweep unnecessarily restarts the sweep when changing the result type while the sweep is already running. If the result type is changed after the sweep has been completed, a Dirty Flag is displayed even though the results are actually valid. V2.70 FSW-K18: The Input / Output dialog occasionally is too high to fit into the FSW screen. V2.80 FSW-K18: Polynomial DPD does not produce optimal results when using AM/AM first in combination with Generate Predistorted Waveform File. V2.80 FSW-K18: Occasionally the warning Press Update DPD to get valid DPD data is displayed even though no DPD is active. Release Notes 1173.9963.02-56 13

since V2.40 FSW-K60: The trace statistics modes "all hops" or "all chirps" will also apply min/max statistics to ClearWrite traces in hop or chirp time domain displays. V2.50 FSW-K60: Normal marker is synced across region and hop/chirp, but hop/chirp spectrum does not update if you drag a marker on the region spectrogram (and vice versa). V2.60 FSW-K60: Adding a marker to the spectrum resets selected frame in the spectrogram. V2.50SP2 FSW-K60: Trace statistics in hop or chirp time domain displays are cleared on every sweep V2.50 FSW-K70: If the window "Magnitude Overview Absolute" of "Capture Buffer" is opened in "Run Single" mode, the displayed data is outdated until "Run Single" is pressed again. V2.60 FSW-K70: In remote mode, if the capture buffer length exceeds 64 000 symbols and if the command SENSE:DDEMOD:SEARCH:MBURST:CALC is sent right after the finished measurement, occasionally the trace in the Mag(Capture Buffer) display is not visible. Workaround: Send refresh command (INIT:REFM) and re-send SENSE:DDEMOD:SEARCH:MBURST:CALC command. V2.70 FSW-K70: [SENSe:]DDEMod:SEARch:MBURst:STARt:SAMPles?, CALCulate<n>:MSRA:WINDow<n>:IVAL? and the displayed analysis range in the MSRA only work reliably for capture lengths <= 256 000 Samples V1.42 FSW-K91, -K91n, -K91ac: In case the instrument is waiting for a trigger this message is not displayed in the status bar. V1.90 FSW-K91: When measuring MIMO and recalling a save set containing the same IPaddresses of the connected devices the measurement will stop working. Please delete the shutdown file 'C:\R_S\Instr\results\Shutdown.dfl' and power cycle the FSW on the rear main switch. V2.00 FSW-K91: Please use not more than three FSW-K91 channels - at maximum capture time - to ensure that the memory of the application is not exceeded. V2.50 FSW-K91/192/K193: In some cases (using FSW-B512) auto level might not produce optimal results. Manual adjustments of the amplitude settings may be required in these cases. V2.60 FSW-K91AX HE Trigger-based PPDU analysis: In some cases the auto bandwidth detection might fail. A work around it to set the bandwidth of the signal to be measured manually. FSW-K91AX HE Trigger-based PPDU analysis: For 40MHz signals with short GI/HE-LTF size, the auto detection might fail. A work around it to set the GI/HE-LTF size of the signal to be measured manually. FSW-K91AX HE MU PPDU: Only manual PPDU Configuration is supported FSW-K91AX Ext Range SU PPDU: Only RU242 size is supported. No MIMO is supported. Release Notes 1173.9963.02-56 14
