We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society. Every year, we care for over 7,000 dogs and cats. In 2016 Battersea reached its highest ever position in the Charity Brand Index at 14th, we are also firmly established within the top 10 in the YouGov UK CharityIndex. Trustees and Directors have approved significant investment for the new and Commercial directorate in 2017. This will transform the capability of the marketing function and enable the development of a new brand, marketing and digital strategy. Responsibility for brand and creative will sit in a new Brand team; responsibility for content, social media and online community development and management will sit in a new Content & Communities team; responsibility for marketing campaign project management, the website, search and display, email marketing and bespoke digital projects will sit in a greatly enhanced team. These teams will require inspirational leadership and a number of marketing specialists to take on key roles. Main Purpose of the Role Deliver and evaluate email acquisition, retention and conversion marketing campaigns for departments across the charity with a particular focus on rehoming and fundraising. Overall Objectives Implement email contact strategies to achieve marketing and organisation-wide objectives. Use email to enhance engagement with the Home (support lead generation, nurturing, conversion, retention, cross-sell, up-sell or to reduce churn rates). Improve ROI and customer lifetime value across all email campaigns
Responsibilities 1. Support email acquisition and conversion marketing campaigns with a particular focus on rehoming and fundraising 2. Map the customer email journey, manage and execute campaigns and improve the customer experience of interacting with the charity 20% 3. Write email copy and source appropriate content 20% 4. Use data to segment audiences effectively, plan data selection, segmentation and prepare campaign lists 15% 5. Deliver the testing strategy to ensure the continual optimisation of Battersea s email marketing strategy 10% 6. Use analytics to track the performance of email activity against targets, evaluate, monitor and produce reports as required 5% 7. Ensuring technical aspects of email systems and processes used remain fit for purpose and flag to manager when alternatives are needed 5% 8. Stay abreast of new developments in customer centric communications <5% 9.
