Updating your SMS Registration in Blue Chip From the 8th of April 2011, Blue Chip s SMS service will be provided by MessageNet. MessageNet was selected due to significant cost savings and functionality enhancements which is passed on to HCN s customers. The following guide will assist you in setting up and re-registering Blue Chip in order to take advantage of this new SMS service.
Updating your SMS Registration in Blue Chip Before You Begin Practices will need to cancel their Auto Top-Up plan with Redcoal, download the guide to cancel Auto Top-Up from http://www.hcn.com.au/uploads/blue_chip_steps_to_cancel_auto_%20top-up.pdf Ensure you have updated Blue Chip to version 2.6.70 before proceeding. To find out which version of Blue Chip you are running, select Help > About. Ensure you have an active Internet connection. If your organisation uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet and this requires authentication, have these details ready. Please contact your System Administrator if required. Overview There are two components to upgrading your SMS registration: A. Initialising the new SMS registration from within Blue Chip. B. Configuring your proxy in order to send scheduled SMS messages. This step is optional for organisations that do not require a proxy to connect to the internet. A. Initialising the new SMS Registration from within Blue Chip 1. Ensure you have upgraded Blue Chip to version 2.6.70 2. Ensure you log into Blue Chip with a user who has permission to Change SMS Setup in BC Secure. 3. Upon opening Blue Chip you will be prompted to register for SMS reminders. Even if you had registered for SMS reminders in a previous version of Blue Chip, you must re-register to make use of the new service. You can also register via SMS > Setup SMS Reminders > Register for SMS button. 4. Click the OK button. The SMS Register prompt appears. 2
5. Create a new Username and Password and then click the OK button. The registration information you enter will be validated immediately, and if invalid you will be prompted accordingly. 6. Your Internet browser will open, and attempt to connect with the Blue Chip / MessageNet web page for SMS registration. On the registration form, the Practice ID and Practice Name fields are automatically populated with your practice details, as shown below. 7. Once you have completed the registration form, click the Submit button. You will be sent a verification email to the email address you entered within the registration form (above). 8. Once you have received the verification email, return to Blue Chip and click the Verify Registration button to verify and save your registration information. 3
Upon successful verification, the Username field will automatically be populated with your chosen user name, the Registration Completed check box will be ticked, and the Change Password button will become available. You will also be prompted accordingly and presented with a request to setup your proxy settings 9. Click the OK button to close the prompt, and then click the OK button in the SMS Reminders Setup window to complete the registration process. Your account will be credited with 100 FREE SMS messages. 4
B. Configuring your proxy in order to send scheduled SMS messages. 1. Within Blue Chip select SMS > Setup SMS Reminders. 2. Select the SMS Scheduler tab. 3. Tick the Use Proxy for SMS Scheduler check box. The remaining fields will become available. 4. Enter your proxy details. Please consult your System Administrator if you need assistance obtaining this information. 5. Click the OK button on the SMS Reminders Setup window to save your settings.
