Overview National Skill Competition (NSC) is an annual competition among students in Indonesia at vocational secondary school with the aim to measure the achievement of the required competence according to competency standards, and to promote vocational graduates to the business/industrial world and other stakeholders in Indonesia. NSC is the Indonesia hub for skills excellence and development. Through cooperation and development between industry, government, organizations, and institutions, we promote the benefits of and need for skilled professionals through community projects, skill competitions, and knowledge exchange. We show how important skills education and training is for youth, industries and society by challenging young professionals in Indonesia to become the best in the skill of their choice. NSC held annually with about 850 young participants in 53 skills course. Indonesia s National Skill Competition is a celebration of the talent, skills, and enterprise of young people, presenting all that s best in our vocational education and apprenticeship skill system. So it would be our pleasure to provide you with the chance to take part in 25 th skill course of this competition. The name of skill course is Animation. The jury in this NSC are academics, practitioners and professionals, who have integrity and dedicated in their field. About Competition and Festival NSC 2017 will be held in Manahan Stadium, Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia 14-20 May 2017 Participants from ASEAN countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) are invited in NSC for Festival of Animation. PROBLEMS GRID FIELD of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANIMATION COMPETITION CATEGORY (3D) A. Preface National Skill Competition (NSC) in 2017 has a slight difference with NSC previous year. The additional two categories competition as well as medium output that resulted shows a real difference in the competition implementation in 2017. The difference can be seen in the following explanation. The changes on NSC categories in 2017 referring to new added values that becomes the basis of considerations: The work competition must be a product that has strong commercial value. The work competition must maintain core competencies elements have been tested There will be a new category on NSC 2017. This category has been entered on World Skill Competition (WSC) 2017 which focuses on the expertise of creating 3D visual assets. This category will test the student's ability to: Create 3D model (students can choose problems either for organic or hard surface work) Create UW Unwarp Create texture painting The created 3D Visual Asset will be allocated to medium output AR (Augmented Reality). 3D Asset Visual Category This category emphasize on two assessment aspects as follows: 1. Visual Aspect This aspect consists of accuracy and resemblance to design 3D models selected. 2. Technical Aspect This aspect covers the suitability of the 3D model elements such as Polygonal Number, Pixel Aspect, Topology form and Object Format Output testing will be allocated to the media through Augmented Reality (AR).
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that combines 2D or 3D virtual objects directly from the physical environment that is recorded via Smartphone, Tablet and Computer. Skills competency on this category include: - 3D modeling skill (Organic & Hard surface) - Unwarp & Texture painting skill This competition will be worked individually, representing the Seamolec members. In the skills competition to execute a project, skills assessment and procedural knowledge will take place through a performance assessment list that has been assigned by the committee. There is no separate test for knowledge and skills. This competition applied fair play system, which are the limits of the competition have known previously. The ability required is the ability to work quickly, accurately and in accordance with the test results of the project. B. DESCRIPTION Competency : 3D Asset Visual Category Type of Products : Augment Reality (AR) Tools : Desktop Computer with mouse/pen mouse Technique : 3D Modeling
Description : 3D Organic or Hard surface modeling (optional) UV Unwarp & Texture painting Duration : 16 hours
C. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION 3D Visual Asset Category Basis assessment adjusted with themes filed in test questions, as for the assessment parameter description can be seen in the table below: Classification 3D Model, UV Quality 96 Evaluation Criteria Criteria assessment of 3D model : Unwarp & Texturing Have a polygonal amount does not exceed the limit conditions Have a good groove topology Have the proportion and size of the 3D model according to the design chosen Have 3D shape similarity with the design chosen Assessment Criteria of UV Unwarp Have a good arrangement of UV Unwarp Have the same pixel size according to the criteria Have a good Seamless Assessment Criteria of Texturing Have the size format according to the criteria Have the accuracy of the structure and Technical 4 composition of the surface (texture) Progressive file done periodically Naming files according to the SOP Export import file according to the SOP TOTAL 100
3D Visual Asset Category Competition in this category focus on one area of assessment module covers: No Assessment Module Quality Duration Competency 1 Competencies Skill Module 3D Model UV Un warp Texturing (competencies skill) 96 18 hours - Organic/hard surface - Modeling - UV Unwarp - Texturing 2 Technical skill Module 4 2 hours Tools & Pipeline works COMPETENCY SKILLS MODULE (3D MODEL, UV UNWARP & TEXTURING) This module is divided into 4 work phase assessment, as follows: 1. 3D MODELING ASSESMENT GROUP Individual can choose modeling technique that will be tested, namely: Organic modeling technique Hard surface modeling technique Individual use VIRTUAL AUTODESK tools in the works of modeling and UNWARP Each individual will receive 5 booklets: 3 pieces of organic design choice models in which there are information of model sheet, color sheet and gesture sheet 2 pieces of design options hard surface models in which there are information of orthographic sheet models, perspective view and texture information The assessment elements on 3D modeling as follows: Have a polygonal amount that does not exceed the limit conditions Have a good groove topology Have the proportion and size of the 3D model according to the design chosen Have the 3D shape similarity with the design chosen The work duration on this stage is: 10 hours
2. UV UNWARP ASSESMENT GROUP UNWARP is a process where 3-D object is projected into a 2D cross-section that is done on VIRTUAL AUTODESK tools. The assessment elements on UNWARP as follows: Have a good arrangement of UV Unwrap Have the same pixel size as the criteria Have a good Seamless The work duration on this stage is: 4 hours 3. TEXTURING ASSESMENT GROUP TEXTURING is a process where Unwrap layout by coloration/texture that worked on Adobe PHOTOSHOP tools. The assessment elements on TEXTURING as follows: Have a size format according to the criteria Have an accuracy of structure and surface composition (texture) with model guide The work duration on this stage is: 5 hours 4. TECHNICAL ASSESMENT GROUP Area assessment is more emphasis on the standard operating procedures of 3D Visual Asset The process become important assessment in this phase The assessment elements on TECHNICAL as follows: Progressive file is done periodically Naming file according to the SOP Export and import file according to the SOP
