ClassLink Student Directions 1. Logging-in Open a web browser, any browser and visit https://launchpad.classlink.com/wssd Your username and password are the same as your WSSD login credentials that you use to access WSSD computers.

2. My Apps Welcome! The first thing you see when entering the LaunchPad is your personal cloud desktop. This gives you instant access to the resources provided to you by your school or district. You can further customize this experience by visiting the resource library, adding your own web links, marking favorites and creating folders.

Task Bar The taskbar runs across the top of your Cloud Desktop. The icons you see will help you navigate around LaunchPad while organizing and customizing your experience.

Edit Mode Rearrange apps by dragging them around. Move apps inside a folder by dropping over it. Combine two apps into a folder by dropping one over the other. To create a new application, select Add Apps and follow the prompts:

New Folder Looking for a way to organize your desktop apps? Create folders! Drop similar app types in the same folder. Create a new folder by dropping one over the other

3. Resource Library LaunchPad includes a library containing over a thousand of educational resources available to add to your cloud desktop. Personalize your space by visiting the resource library and exploring what s available. Click Add Custom to have that resource appear on your cloud desktop.

Adding Apps Can t locate your favorite website in the resource library or want to add a custom link to a frequented web page, for example a blog or teacher webpage? With LaunchPad, you can easily add your own custom applications. To do so, click the green Add Custom box within the resource library or in edit mode. Then give your custom application a name and type in the URL address. Next, LaunchPad will scan our resource library to check if that app already exists. If the app doesn t appear after this process, click no, continue to finish creating your custom application. Some websites have icons available for use, click detect icon to see if an icon exists for your site. If no icon exists, select browse icon to pick an icon out of LaunchPad s icon library. Finally, choose how you would like your application to open. Heads up! You can also remove icons from the cloud desktop within the resource library. Simply click remove under the icon to see it instantly disappear.

Only available in ClassLink Cloud folders Heads up! Did you know you can access the full menu options by right clicking the file or clicking the down action arrow? See below.

LaunchPad Agent This has already been done on WSSD computers. Use these directions if you want to load this agent on non-wssd computers. We have created a New LaunchPad Agent (Mac and PC) to GREATLY improve the local editing experience! LaunchPad Agent is a small applet that would be locally installed on your computer and it eliminates the need for Java. Local editing of files is lightning fast! LaunchPad Agent stays in your task tray and you can click it to see status of current files and history of previous ones. LaunchPad detects if Agent is installed and falls back to Java where it is not available. Provides notifications on upload/download completion. One click access to documents that fail to upload properly. Available for Mac and PC Using the LaunchPad Agent also means no more Java updates. To download and install the LaunchPad Agent follow these quick and easy steps. Screenshots for each step are included Step Description Step 1 Locate then click the gray circle in the My Files module found on the bottom of LaunchPad Step 2 A new window will appear. Click the Download Agent box to download the agent zip file Step 3 Unzip the file then double-click setup.exe Step 4 Once installed, return to the Download Agent window, then click 'Verify Agent Installed' Step 5 Click close. If the agent is installed the My Files module will have a GREEN circle

Great! Now that the agent is installed, go to a document in My Files, try the Open Locally option!

5. My Classes My Classes provides a place for teachers to collaborate and deliver instructional resources to students. Creating a Class Ready to start using the Instructional View? All you have to do is create a class and enroll some students or setup self enrollment. Let's begin!

To create a class, navigate to the My Classes Menu and select the Add New Class menu item. You will then be prompted for a few pieces of basic information like the Name, Color (uses a color picker) and description. Heads Up! Make sure to put in a good description because it will be the first thing users see when searching for a class or using the ipad app. After creating the class, you will immediately be redirected to the class and the first module, Discuss. The first thing you will want to do is enroll students. Enrolling Students (Users & Subgroups) Once creating a new class, you must enroll your students into the class for them to access any content made available. There are two ways to get students into your class. Enrolling them manually Enabling self-enrollment

Self Enrollment Within settings, turn the button under Enable Self-enrollment to the On position. This will make your class Open Enrollment meaning it is now visible to all students and anyone can enroll. To allow only select students to enroll in your class you can do one of two things: Tip One: An enrollment key will override a password if you have both enabled in your class settings. Tip Two: A password and enrollment key are two different things. You cannot enter a password in the enrollment key search window when enrolling in a class. Password Protect: You can create your own password. Students select your class from a list and enter the password when prompted. Enrollment Key: This opens your class to individuals using LaunchPad in schools and districts outside of yours if you provide them with the password. Enabling Self Enrollment You can allow students to enroll themselves in your class under the 'Settings' tab. Once in settings, check the 'Enable Self Enrollment' box. You also have an option of selecting an enrollment password for added security. This will ensure that only the students with the password are able to enroll in your class.

Enabling Self Enrollment Video: Creating Subgroups Once you have enrolled the students in your class you are able to create subgroups of students. With this function, you can have a discussion or a class assignment specific to a particular student or group of students. Here are some examples of when subgroups are useful: You teach a class on one topic, with the same content, to multiple groups of students. Why create three different classes with the same content when you can create one Group projects within your class Private one-on-one assignments or discussions with a student or grouping of students. Discussions Discussions allow you to post comments to your class. You can attach a document, video, poll, whiteboard or lesson to a discussion post. You can also have discussion posts specific to a subgroup of students.

Discussions Video: Lessons Lessons provides you with a place to deliver instructional content to your students in the form of text, html (web content), videos, links, whiteboards, images and more. To begin, open lessons within your class page. Then create a new folder or open an existing folder. Folders will help you keep your lessons organized. The eye icon next to the folder allows you to remove a folder and its content from student view. Click Add Lesson to create a lesson. Give the new lesson a name, color and type any content into the text box. You can also attach a document, video, poll, whiteboard or homework assignment to a lesson.

Lessons Video: Class Apps Apps provides you with a cloud desktop specific to each class. Here you can make relevant applications available to your students. To add applications click the gear icon and select Add Apps. You can search for an application within the search window or add a custom application by selecting Add Custom App. Create folders to keep your applications organized.

Go into Edit Mode to rearrange apps by dragging them around. Move apps inside a folder by dropping over it. Combine two apps into a folder by dropping one over the other.

Class Apps Video: Assignments Assignments allows you to collect student work electronically. Simply open the assignments tab and click New to create a new assignment. Lock an assignment to prevent students from uploading submissions past the due date. Select Allow submissions past the due date to collect late work.
