Setting Up Your Neo Z64a Your Minix Neo Z64A comes pre-installed with everything you need. To set up, simply connect the power adapter to the wall and to the Power Connector. If you are using Ethernet (wired internet) connect the cable to the Ethernet Port. If you re using Wireless, you don t need to do this. The Minix Neo Z64A is designed for high performance so only comes equipped with an HDMI cable. You can connect the included HDMI cable (Figure 2) to the HDMI port on your Minix Neo Z64A and to your TV (Figure 1). Remote Essentials Your remote has a lot of buttons but there are only a few you really need to get around. POWER BUTTON: The Power Button turns your device on and off. When hitting the button to power off it will simply go to sleep. When you turn it on next it will come on quickly and be at the screen you last left it at. To turn it off completely or reboot it, hold the power button for a moment and a menu will come up where you can reboot or power off the box. HOME BUTTON: The Home Button will always take you back to the Minix Neo Z64A Home screen that you see when you first power on the unit. OK BUTTON: The OK button is used to simply confirm your selection. In Kodi (XBMC) it is also used to bring up the playback menu for videos and music so you can pause, rewind, etc. MENU BUTTON: The Menu Button is used as sort of a right click like on a computer. It will mostly be used in Kodi (XBMC) to bring up a menu.
RETURN BUTTON: The Return Button functions as a Back button and can be used to go to a previous page. DIRECTIONAL PAD: The directional pad is used both to navigate menus and also to skip forward or back in videos and music.
Using Your Minix Neo Z64A When your Minix Neo Z64A Powers on, you ll be presented with the Home Screen. From the Home Screen you have, you can launch various applications, browse the web, or change settings from it. Setting up Wireless If you re using Wireless internet, the first thing you ll need to do is set that up. Using your remote or keyboard, navigate to the Settings icon (the folder with tools on it) and hit OK. Wireless is the first option, select that option. You will be presented with a list of available networks. Choose your network and enter the password if required. You re now connected! Hit the Home button to go back to the Home Screen.
Changing Display Settings It s possible your TV may be overscanning the picture and elements on the top and edges may be cut off like the picture below: To fix this, go to the Settings icon (folder with tools on it) and hit OK. Navigate down to HDMI and hit OK.
Now navigate down Overscan Compensation and hit OK. You can now adjust the horizontal and vertical picture as needed until the picture fits your screen. Once done, hit the Home key on your remote.
Setting the Time Zone You ll also want to ensure the proper time zone is selected. All boxes come set to Atlantic Time, if you need to adjust that, go to the Setting icon (folder with tools) and scroll down to the Date & Time option and hit OK on it. Then to Select time zone:
And finally, scroll through the list and select your time zone. Once done, you can either hit the Escape (Esc) key on your keyboard or the Home Button on your remote.
Using Apps To start using apps, simply highlight it in the Home Screen and hit OK to open it. Some apps require a login such as Skype, Facebook and Netflix. The main apps are at the bottom of your screen. You can view all the apps by opening All Apps from the Home Screen. That is it for basic operation of your MINIX NEO Z64A.
