Oracle Retail Price Management Release Notes Release 13.2.5 October 2012 Oracle Retail Price Management (RPM) Release 13.2.5 is a patch release for RPM 13.2. RPM 13.2.5 includes selected defect fixes and enhancements for RPM 13.2 code. Oracle Customer Support investigates submitted issues assuming that all released updates have been applied. It is the customer's decision when to apply a new release; however, delays in applying updates can complicate the support process. About Patch Releases Oracle Retail patch releases are periodic releases that can include the following: New defect fixes Product enhancements Technology upgrades Performance fixes Documentation for patch releases includes new and updated guides (for example, operations guides, user guides, and so on) that apply to the patch release level. These documents include applicable updates made since the last patch release. Documents revised for this patch release supersede and replace all previous document versions. See "Related Documentation" for a list of the documents published for 13.2.5. Note: Customers must apply the entire patch release to update their installation to the currently supported level. See the Oracle Retail Price Management Installation Guide for Release 13.2.5 for instructions about how to apply the defect fixes and enhancements that you have not already applied. Hardware and Software Requirements See the Oracle Retail Price Management Installation Guide for information about the following: Hardware and software requirements Oracle Retail application software compatibility 1

Applying the Patch Release Before applying the RPM 13.2.5 patch release, be sure that: RPM 13.2 has been installed The RPM 13.2.3 patch release has been applied The RPM 13.2.4 patch release has been applied Before applying the patch release over your files: Note whether any modules have been customized. If so, the customizations must be reapplied to the new version of the module, or the fix may need to be applied to the custom version of the code. Copy the original files to a different directory before you copy over them, in case you need to refer to them at a later date. Running Scripts Back up data before running any script, because the scripts provided do not preserve data. See defect reports for details. Check with your database administrator to determine whether your database should be analyzed after a script is run. In many cases, analysis of the database is necessary to take advantage of new or modified indexes intended to improve performance of the application. Functional Enhancements The following are functional enhancements for Oracle Retail Price Management Release 13.2.5. Cancel Item Locations from Active Promotions Functionality was added to cancel an item and/or locations off of an active promotion. The enhancement is only applicable to active promotion price events created as simple or threshold, including vendor funded and customer segment. It is not allowed for multi-buy promotions, finance promotions, price changes, or clearance programs. For each item /location successfully canceled off of an active promotion, the promotion end date is set to VDATE and reflected accordingly in the future retail tables (RFR). This enhancement covers changes in the following areas: UI Database and PL/SQL This enhancement is related to Store Inventory Management defect 13964087. For more information, see the Oracle Retail Price Management User Guide. Automatic Creation of Exclusions This new feature changes the conflict check process, resulting in automatic creation of exclusions for items that do not pass the conflict check rules. This feature will be applied to price events created at a higher than transaction level and/or zone level. System generated exclusions will be created using tolerance guidelines. This enhancement covers changes in the following areas: 2

UI Service Layer Database and PL/SQL For more information, see the Oracle Retail Price Management Operations Guide. Technical Enhancements The following are technical enhancements for Oracle Retail Price Management Release 13.2.5. Note: The list below announces the addition of Oracle Retail support for the technology described. See the Installation Guide requirements section for critical information, such as whether the enhancement below replaces previous versions or is supported in addition to already existing versions. Payload Population Delayed Enhancement When running conflict checking for large price events, a lot of processing time is dedicated to exploding data on the future retail tables to the Transaction Item and Location level so that data can be communicated to other systems. In an environment where the Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB) is not involved, the system can postpone this explosion logic to finish the conflict checking logic faster and return control of the price event back to a user more quickly. A system option is now included to indicate whether the RPM system is integrated through RIB. The option replaces the following application startup parameters. Dretek.no.rib=true/false Dretek.no.rib.publish=true/false Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 1gR1 To assist you with this technical enhancement, Oracle Retail has published the following document on MyOracleSupport (https://support.oracle.com). Oracle Access Manager and Single Sign-On Whitepaper (My Oracle Support Doc ID 1492047.1) This case study details the steps needed to create a Single Sign-On enviroment on a WebLogic Server 10.36.6 using Oracle Access Manager 11.1.1.5. The goal of this document is not to be a substitute for OAM documentation, but to illustrate how Oracle Retail approached and performed its setup. Oracle Solaris 11 on Oracle SPARC RPM Release 13.2.5 is supported for use with Oracle Solaris 11 on Oracle SPARC. Windows 7 Client Operating System RPM Release 13.2.5 is supported for use with Microsoft Windows 7 Client Operating System. 3

IBM AIX 7.1 RPM Release 13.2.5 is supported for use with IBM AIX 7.1. Browser Support RPM Release 13.2.5 is supported for use with the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Mozilla Firefox 10 System Defect Fixes and Documentation A defect fix is a modification to the base Oracle Retail code (for example, a bug fix, a performance enhancement, or a functional enhancement). Each defect fix that is included in this release has a corresponding defect report titled <defect-number>.pdf (for example, 12345678.PDF). The file DEFECT MODULE XREF RPM 13.2.5.XLS lists the new defect fixes for Release 13.2.5. Review each defect report carefully before implementing the defect fixes. Note that scripts do not preserve data. Make sure that all data is backed up before you run any script. Noteworthy Defect Fixes See the cross-reference spreadsheets and defect reports included with this release for complete lists and full details.
