We have built in a client upgrade window from 9th October, 2013 to 28th February, 2014 to provide sufficient time to upgrade the client software. During this window both ISIscan 4.1 and ISIscan 4.6.10 clients will be able to synchronize the RINA01 or RINA 02 server. After 8th October, 2013 all new RINA clients must be version 4.6.10. IMPORTANT!! After FEBRUARY 28, 2014 ISIscan 4.1 clients will no longer be able to access the FOSS hosted RINA01 or RINA02 Servers and will not be able synchronize samples or configurations. We strongly advise you to upgrade to ISIscan and RINAClientComponents 4.6.10 as soon as possible in order to prevent any disruption to your service and gain access to the latest and most stable version of the software. 2 Prerequisites & Overview If you are migrating to a NEW computer or replacing your Operating System please use ISIscan Installation Manual for version 4.6.X in place of this upgrade guide. Supported Operating Systems: Windows 7 Enterprise/Ultimate SP1 (32&64 bit) *Recommended Windows XP Professional SP3 Install Microsoft.NET 4.0 Framework Extended (click here to download dotnetfx40_full_x86_x64.exe) Run Windows Update Backup data folder: o Default in 32 bit OS: C:\Program Files\Infrasoft International\ISIscan\data o Default in 64 bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\infrasoft International\ISIscan\data Note: All prerequisites must be installed from the Microsoft website before upgrading ISIscan & RINAClient Components or the installations will fail. 2.1 Communication Ports Communication with a RINA or Mosaic Server requires that a least 1 port is configured, in every hardware & software firewalls, to allow outgoing communication. If the ports are blocked by a firewall no communication with a RINA or Mosaic Server can occur. If using a customer hosted RINA or Mosaic Server the communication port will be determined by the customer IT Department. When connecting to a FOSS hosted RINA or Mosaic Server then the port will be specified by FOSS. The ports listed below have changed from previous ISIscan versions and your current configuration may no longer work. Please contact your IT Department for help unblocking firewall ports. FOSS cannot make changes to firewalls. CLIENT-SIDE PORTS: Communication is always initiated from the client/instrument. The ports do need to be opened on the client for incoming communication. Required Open Firewall Ports for a FOSS RINA Server: RINA01: Port 444 must be unblocked for all outgoing communication RINA02: Port 443 must be unblocked for all outgoing communication Required Open Firewall Ports for a FOSS Mosaic Server: Please contact your local FOSS Service Provider for help with Mosaic Server Ports 2.2 Upgrade Component Installation Order 1. Upgrade ISIscan (ISIscan 4.6.10.14815.exe) 2. Run URL update utility (RINAUpdateUtility.exe) - Note: There are two versions of this Utility. One for RINA01 and another for RINA02. All ISIscan installation files for ISIscan 4.6.10, RINAClientComponents, & the RINAUpdateUtility.exe are available for download from WinISI.com. From the WinISI.com homepage go to Support -> Downloads then click the RINA download link in the RINA Users Section. On the RINA Support Section page, click on RINA Version 4.6.10 at the bottom of the screen and then click on each file to download. 3 Upgrading ISIscan to Version 4.6.10 1. Right-click on the ISIscan installation file 'ISIscan 4.6.10.14815.exe', and select 'Properties' on the menu 2. Click the Compatibility tab, and click a checkmark 'Run this program as an administrator' check box 3. Double-click 'ISIscan 4.6.10.14815.exe' to launch the ISIscan installer and click Next Upgrade Guide / Rev 1 Page 4 of 16
4. Click 'I accept the license agreement' and click Next 5. Click Next Upgrade Guide / Rev 1 Page 5 of 16

8. Click Next and wait while the ISIscan files are installed 9. The Sentinel Driver Installer will open during the ISIscan installation. Click Next o Note: If the Sentinel System Driver 7.5.1 is already installed the installer will automatically skip to Step 13 after clicking Next Upgrade Guide / Rev 1 Page 7 of 16
10. Click 'I accept the terms in the license agreement' and click Next 11. Select the 'Complete' and click Next Upgrade Guide / Rev 1 Page 8 of 16

14. Wait for the ISIscan installer to complete the installation (this will take a few minutes as the database is being upgraded and there will be activity on the screen) and click Finish 4 Updating the RINA URL for Synchronization 1. Double-click 'RinaUpdateUtility.exe' to update the URL to the RINA server and press any key to close the window when the update utility is complete (RinaUpdateUtility.exe & RinaUpdateUtility.xml must be located in the same folder). Note: There are two versions of this Utility. One for RINA01 and another for RINA02. Make sure you have the correct version before installing. If you skip the 'RinaUpdateUtility.exe' step you will get the following error when attempting to synchronize. Close ISIscan and run the RinaUpdateUtility.exe before trying to synchronize again. 5 Upgrading the RINAClientComponents 1. Right-click on the file 'RINAClientComponents.exe', and select 'Properties' on the menu 2. 2. After the previous version of Rina Client Components has been removed click OK 3. Click Next Upgrade Guide / Rev 1 Page 12 of 16

6. Wait for the installer to finish and click Close ISIscan and RINAClientComponents are now upgraded to version 4.6.10! 6 Testing Synchronization with the RINA Server 1.
