There are several different ways to maneuver the Safety Storm courses from this point. To enter the course listed, click the Next button located at the top right hand corner of the screen. You can also enter the course by using the index on the left side of the screen. Simply expand the course by clicking on the + sign, or clicking on the module that you want to enter. Once you click on the module, or click the Next button, information on that module will display in the right column of your screen. This information is an overview, or summary of the module. Starting the Video Module When you are ready to start the video, simply click the Next Button, or click on the Flash Content tab in the index. This will bring up the video screen associated with the module chapter. This screen will have the name of the module, the length of the module, and an index of the video. Additionally, you can play, pause, and stop the video by using the menu bar at the bottom of the video screen. The volume of the video can be adjusted by moving the slide bar left or right on the menu bar as well. Page 3 of 8
To skip to a particular chapter in the video, click on the chapter name to skip to in the video index portion located in the left hand column of the video screen. At any time during the video, you can show or hide the main index, go to the previous screen, go to the next screen, or take the test associated with the video by clicking on the appropriate button at the top of the video screen. Once the video has completed, you can exit the system by closing the browser window if need be and come back later to take the test. The Interactive Format Module records the progress of the courses, and allows them to be resumed at a later time if need be. Taking the test Click on the take Test button on the video tool bar in the top right corner of the screen, or click on the Test icon in the index list. This will bring up the testing screen. To answer a question, simply click in the radio button beside the answer you would like to choose. When the radio button turns green, that is the recorded answer. Scroll down the screen, answering all questions available, and when you are satisfied with all answers, click the grade questions button located at the end of the questions. Page 4 of 8
Once the test has been graded, if the percentage of correct answers is not high enough to pass the test, the system will return a message informing you of how many questions were missed, and will restart the video for further review to retake the test. After taking the test and getting the percentage of correct answers to pass, you will get a Passed Test screen. The course that the test was taken on will also now show a green check mark instead of the red X. From this screen, you can either exit, or click next to continue the module. In addition to the tree format index column, the legend of the icons for the index is located at the bottom of the index screen for each module. Page 5 of 8
Completing the Module Once all of the courses within the module have been completed, and all the tests passed, the evaluation screen will appear. Once all the evaluation choices have been selected, choose the approximate time for completing the course from the drop down menu and click Submit Evaluation. The system will give an error if any of the responses for the evaluation are not answered. Printing the Certificate After submitting the evaluation, you will then be given the opportunity to download the certificate in PDF format, print the certificate from your browser, or request the certificate by mail. The certificate will have your name, the course title, the date the program expires, and the completion date of the course. At any time, if there is 30 minutes of inactivity in the Interactive Module, the system will time out and you will be prompted to sign in again. From this screen, you can just click the link to return to the Health.edu home page to sign back in to the system. Page 7 of 8
