PROBE INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL (Improperly installing and removing the probe will damage the connectors) ALWAYS TURN POWER OFF BEFORE CONNECTING OR DISCONNECTING PROBE Always hold the probe connector by the aluminum barrel and not the rubber boot. Line up the RED dots on both the probe and the scanner. Once these dots are aligned, push the probe connector into the scanner. Disconnect the probe by holding the barrel (not the rubber boot) and pulling straight out. DO NOT TURN OR TWIST PAGE 4 DO NOT TURN OR TWIST
CHARGING THE UNIT Plug the AC power cord into an AC outlet and plug the charger output cable into the connector on the probe (located 6 from the probe/scanner connector. When fully charged, the unit should run for 4-5 hours. The black charger case contains a 3 hour backup battery. Please dispose of batteries properly. PAGE 4 PAGE 5

GENERAL OPERATION 1. Turn on the unit by holding the POWER/ FREEZE button for 2 seconds. 2. Put the unit into LIVE mode by pressing the POWER/FREEZE button quickly. Pressing this key will toggle between LIVE (Stop:Off) and FREEZE (Stop:On) mode. 3. Vary the power up or down by pressing the UP/ DOWN arrows (in LIVE (Stop:Off) mode only). 4. BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST and LEFT HAND MODE ADJUSTMENT 1. Press the MODE button with the image in LIVE mode (Stop: OFF). The CONTRAST, BRIGHTNESS and LEFT HAND MODE options will appear on the screen. 2. Use the UP/DOWN Arrow buttons to toggle between the Contrast, Brightness and Left Hand Modes (see screen below). The selected mode will have a box displayed around it. (Example: The Brightness mode is selected on the screen below.) 3. Use the LEFT/RIGHT Arrow button to change the selected mode. (Raise or lower the CONTRAST or BRIGHTNESS levels or change the scanner to start up in the LEFT HAND MODE. 4. Press the MODE button again to return to normal scanning. STORING AND RETRIEVING IMAGES 1. FREEZE an image (Stop: ON). 2. Push the LEFT/RIGHT keys to toggle to the next image position (see Memory Indicator on the screen change) 3. Press the FREEZE button again to clear the screen and go to live. 4. FREEZE your next image (Stop: ON). You can store up to 15 images. 5. You can toggle through your stored images in the FREEZE mode (Stop: ON) using the LEFT/RIGHT keys. The image indicator on the screen will change accordingly. MAKING MEASUREMENTS 1. Freeze the image using the FREEZE key (Stop: ON). 2. Push the MODE key to bring up the measurement cursors. 3. Move the UP/DOWN or LFET/RIGHT arrows to move the first curser to the starting position. 4. Press the MODE button again and move the second curser to the ending position. The distance will be displayed on the screen. 5. Press the FREEZE button to return to a live image or press and hold the MODE key to remove the measurement cursors. LIMITED WARRANTY (US ONLY) VETERINARY SALES & SERVICE INC. ( VSS ) warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship for the time periods and as set forth below. Pursuant to this Limited Warranty, VSS will, at its option, (i) repair the product using new or refurbished parts or (ii) replace the product with a new or refurbished product. For purposes of this Limited Warranty, refurbished means a product or part that has been returned to its original specifications. In the event of a defect, these are your exclusive remedies. Term: For a period as indicated on your original invoice from the original date of purchase of the product, VSS will, at its option, repair or replace with new or refurbished product or parts, any product or parts determined to be defective. This Limited Warranty covers only the hardware components packaged with the Product. It does not cover technical assistance for hardware or software usage and it does not cover any software products whether or not contained in the Product; any such software is provided AS IS unless expressly provided for in any enclosed software Limited Warranty. Instructions: Warranty repair is performed a VSS authorized service facility. Otherwise, to obtain warranty service, you must deliver the product, freight prepaid, in either its original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection to the VSS authorized service facility specified. Repair / Replacement Warranty: This Limited Warranty shall apply to any repair, replacement part or replacement product for the remainder of the original Limited Warranty. Any parts or product replaced under this Limited Warranty will become the property of VSS. Any parts replaced under the original Warranty period are Warranted until the end of the original equipment Warranty. This Limited Warranty only covers product issues caused by defects in material or workmanship during ordinary consumer use; it does not cover product issues caused by any other reason, including but not limited to, product issues due to (i) acts of God, (ii) misuse, (iii) customer instruction, installation, set up adjustments or signal reception or electrical noise issues; (iv) limitations of technology, or (v) modification of or to any part of the VSS product or (vi) service or repairs performed by any unauthorized person or companies. This Limited Warranty does not cover VSS products sold AS IS or consumables (such as fuses or batteries). This Limited Warranty is invalid if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from the product. This Limited Warranty is valid only in the United States. All warranty service must be performed by VSS at its Florida service facility unless otherwise approved, in writing by VSS. LIMITATION ON DAMAGES: VSS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH HAVE ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY ON THIS PRODUCT.
