User s Guide for Opportunity Seekers, page 5 To View/Use Your Calendar The calendar located on your artsource homepage is a tool that allows you to create your own appointments or reminders. It will also feature notices and reminders posted by OCS about information sessions, workshops or events in conjunction with its professional development programs. There are various ways you can utilize the calendar function: Adding an item to your calendar: Double-click on a calendar square for the date you wish to add an item to. Scroll over to the upper-right hand corner of the calendar and click Month view. Double click on a square for the date you wish to add a calendar item to. In the Subject field, type in a subject, up to 250 characters. You can choose to add additional information in the Description field. Modify the start date/time and end date/time. The default setting is 24 hours, so you will probably need to modify the pre-populated dates/times. Example A: If you wanted to add an appointment that you made in the OCS for May 16, 2014 from 10:00-10:45 AM, the start time would be 5/16/2014, 10:00 AM and the end time would be 5/16/2014, 10:45 AM. You can make your date/time choices by clicking the icons to the right of the fields or manually adding the date/time for ½ hour or 15-minute increments. Example B: To remind yourself to work in your studio over the course of a weekend, add the full-time range, beginning with 12:00 AM Saturday and ending at 12:00 PM Sunday. After making your choices, click Save. Viewing or modifying saved calendar items: For items that you have manually added/saved, the corresponding icon will appear on your homepage calendar in the appropriate date square. To view additional details, hover your cursor over the icon. Information you typed in the Subject field will open. To view the full range of information you added for that date, including information in the Description field and Start/End Times, double-click the calendar icon and the populated fields will open. You can always modify information in any of these fields. Click Save to embed the changed item. Viewing OCS-generated items: Appointments, information sessions or other career-related notices will be displayed. Hover your cursor over the calendar icon and information pertaining to the item will open up. Exporting calendars items to Outlook Click on the small icon located by your calendar item to export your appointment or reminder to your Outlook e-mail program.

User s Guide for Opportunity Seekers, page 6 Changing Calendar View: You can change your calendar view to display Day, Week, or Month. Click the appropriate icon for the display of choice. Turning Calendar On or Off: To hide your calendar, click the upward-pointing arrow to the far left of the blue calendar bar. To turn your calendar back on, click the downward-pointing arrow and the calendar will re-appear on your screen. OCS staff members are here to assist you as you navigate artsource.
