Over the last few years, the continent has seen a strong penetration in cyberspace from less than 5% in 2007 to 28% in 2015. Providers of growth and jobs, the Internet, mobile networks, and communication technologies (ICTs) have become essential to development in Africa. Such an expansion, however, leads to the development of new illegal, criminal and dangerous activities for the continent. This is cybercrime. The continent is currently plagued by cyber criminal activity. We are witnessing the many attacks on the sites and especially the 42% increase in cyber attacks in Africa since 2012 as revealed by the report Symantec 2013 report, a failure in securing cyberspace. To support digital transformation and the development of new uses, a strengthening of digital security is essential. The Africa Cyber Security Conference provides an overview of the technological advances, the economic and social challenges associated with these advances, as well as the challenges in the field of security and data preservation, both at the private and public level. It enables citizens to better understand the issues related to cybercrime.
