HCS1 Three-Axis Helmholtz Coil System Innovation in Magnetic Measuring Instruments
HCS1 Three-Axis Helmholtz Coil System HCS1 Three-Axis Helmholtz Coil System The system consists of three pairs of coils (HC1) and a drive amplifier (PA1) that generate a magnetic field of known frequency and intensity, up to 500μT per axis for a DC field and up to 100μT for a 5kHz field. Running from a standard single phase AC line supply, the 40cm diameter coils produce a 0.1% homogeneous field of 4.5cm 3. A mounting table is provided to hold the test item inside the homogeneity volume. A unit (CU1) can be supplied to control the system using LabVIEW -based software. It can be offered with a National Instruments PXI system which allows the user to set the field, set any DC compensation as required and receive feedback from the coils. This control unit takes inputs from any Bartington Instruments magnetometer to provide a reference reading of the local magnetic field. Inputs can also be taken from the coil current and from a spare magnetometer if required. It can also be offered with a PCI card that will allow it to be connected to an existing PC. Features Field generated in three axes, up to 500μT per axis for DC and 100μT at 5kHz Separate System Control Unit (CU1) available Current monitor output Applications Calibration of three-axis magnetic field sensors Cancellation of magnetic fields Creation of a known magnetic environment
