1. Introduction This document describes all the data the Squarell FMS interfaces send onto their FMS CANbus port. This document contains a complete description of all the supported messages and parameters as well as the Squarell CANbus hardware setup. With this CANbus protocol a full functioning Telematic interface can be built within hours. Important: Not all parameters from the list may be available. This availability of the data depends on the brand, model, year and configuration of the vehicle. 4

2. CANbus Settings Most of the Squarell devices have 2 CANbus ports. CANbus 1 send out CAN data in FMS-standard and can be connected to a Telematics device CANbus. CANbus 1 Setup: Protocol J1939 CANbus Speed 250 Kb MSB /LSB LSB CANbus 2 is Squarell device dependant. It can be a CANbus port with: - A Listen Only CANbus; which can only be connected to the direct vehicle CANbus. - Terminated CANbus; which can be connected to a FMS interface. In this case there is no extra termination needed. - Non Terminated CANbus; which can be connected to a FMS interface. In this case there is a need of sufficiently Termination. CANbus 2 Setup: Protocol Vehicle or User dependant (Default = J1939) CANbus Speed Vehicle or User dependant (Default = 250kb) MSB /LSB Vehicle or User dependant (Default = LSB) 5

3. CANbus Messages and parameters: The Squarell FMS interface messages, described below are predefined messages implemented standard in all Squarell FMS interfaces. It could be that the mounted vehicle CANbus is not supporting some of the below messages and/or parameters. Important: Not all parameters from the list may be available. This availability of the data depends on the brand, model, year and configuration of the vehicle. 3.1 Standard CAN Messages The standard CANbus messages are CANbus messages that contain the vehicle data. Below are all the standard CAN messages listed.
