Windows Agent Console 8.0 is intended for use with: Windows Agent and Plug-in versions 5.6 to 8.0 (except for the Image Plug-in) vsphere Agent versions 6.90 and later Agent versions 5.6 through 6.71 for VMware ESX Server AIX Agent versions 5.6 and later Desktop Agent versions 6.23 and later HP-UX Agent versions 6.0 and later Linux Agent versions 5.6 to 7.21 Solaris Agent versions 5.6 and later Note: You cannot manage the Image Plug-in or Hyper-V Agent using Windows Agent Console. The Hyper-V Agent and Image Plug-in are only supported in Portal. For full new feature functionality, use the latest Vault software version. 1

Note: For full support of new Agent features, manage the Agent using Portal. The Daily Status Report and restores from multiple UNC jobs are not available in Windows Agent Console. 2
3 INSTALLATION NOTES 3.1 Installation Requirements 3.1.1 Hardware Requirements CPU and RAM - should meet the minimum requirements of your operating system 60 MB of available disk space 3.1.2 Software Requirements.NET Framework versions 4.5 and 2 A TCP/IP stack 3.2 Conditional Requirements See the Agent Console Operations Guide for detailed information. This guide is available from your service provider. For Agents 6.90 and later, Windows Agent Console connects to both the BUAgent and VVAgent services. This means that you need to provide an additional port for the Agent connection. For Agents 6.90 and later, the default port for the BUAgent is 8031. If you use the default ports, Windows Agent Console will automatically detect the BUAgent port to use. If you use custom ports, you will need to provide another port for the BUAgent. 3.3 Licensing You do not require a license to use Windows Agent Console. 3.4 Installing/Uninstalling/Upgrading The file name for the installation kit is: AgentConsole-8-00-2854.exe Refer to the Windows Agent Console Operations Guide for installation instructions and administration procedures. This guide is available from your service provider. 4 FIXES AND KNOWN ISSUES 4.1 Fixes Windows Agent Console now provides the option to restore an Exchange 2013 database to its original location. (30026) 4.2 Known Issues If you also used Portal 7.40 to manage Agents, and notice changes in how safesets are retained on your vault, contact Support for assistance. A problem in Portal 7.40 sometimes caused incorrect retention IDs. (26957) Windows Agent Console sometimes becomes unresponsive when you try to browse for virtual machines in large vsphere environments. 3
WORKAROUND: Windows Agent Console can now be configured to allow browsing for virtual machines in large vsphere environments. For more information, contact Support. (23550) With Windows Agent Console, using Restore from another computer from a SQL standalone machine to a virtual SQL Cluster, Restore to file on disk fails and the wizard disappears after you select Vault, Computer and job. No Dump or Log file is created. WORKAROUND: Use Portal or Web Agent Console to run this type of restore from another computer, or restore using the physical node.
