German initiative on TMP-Management The project Long Distance Corridor LDC has been started in 2003 within the Euroregionale projects CENTRICO, CORVETTE, STREETWISE Several German Länder as well as Switzerland and Austria have decided to start a common initiative in 2005 in that context. The goal in 2005 was to exchange experiences in the coordinated application of traffic management strategies between the german-speaking partners from CENTRICO, CORVETTE, VIKING und SERTI For 2006, first prototypes have been set up in the corridors Frankfurt- Cologne, Frankfurt Munich and Dortmund-Hamburg. Test phase is running till September 2007. The result will be a common understanding of coordinated network management in long distance corridors between the involved partners I2tern 2007 - Aalborg 3

General goals of strategic TMP-Management TMP-Management in European corridors, coordinated with neighbouring responsibilities, integrating Management of alternatives in the own network Management of alternatives in cross-responsibility networks Management of alternatives in the regional network System support for operators to activate / de-activate strategy management measures (Operator View) Define and authorize measures on decision maker level with neighbours Provide traffic information regarding dynamic rerouting recommendation I2tern 2007 - Aalborg 5

ISM-based solution approach for coordinated strategic TMP-Management ISM means Interregional (intermodal) Strategy Manager and bases on a development in Hessia in 2000-2002 simple, transparent and quality-monitored control mechanism for semi-automatic activation of rerouting-measures in the online-operation definition of protocols and formats for the semi-automatic negotiation of strategies with partners on online-operation in the European context decision support to integrate operators in the workflow of negotiating and activating strategies and control measures open organisational framework for defining and applying strategic alternative route guidance with European neighbours I2tern 2007 - Aalborg 6

Tasks of the TMP-Broker The strategic TMP-broker has the task to coordinate the negotiation process between the involved partners for the activation of long-distance rerouting measures (workflow-support and monitor) conitor the status of activation of each TMP monitor the communication between the partners host the strategy client of neighbours without own ITinfrastructure visualise strategies OGC-conform on maps. Integration of standard map-based information layers and workflow-services For the presentation of TMP and traffic information on maps, OGCstandard has been chosen. Using standardised OGC-based Web-Services, the TMP-Broker is a cross-responsibility platform supporting a distributed architecture, managing Negotiation and authorisation processes Data providing and data distributing processes Information services Further on, as the TMP-Broker is integrated in Geodata-Infrastructures, it is possible to integrate data from other services by Web-Map-Services On the same way, all traffic information and active TMP can be published as Web-Map- or Web-Feature-Services.
