Dragon Naturally Speaking and TARGIT Intelligent Wizard Call your software!
Introduction This guide describes how to voice control the Intelligent Wizard. We take use of Dragon Naturally Speaking from Nuance to handle the speech-to-text. Explore the link for current license pricing. Dragon can be controlled from any microphone or headset. The build-in microphone does a good job, but we recommend using a smartphone to give the correct the calling experience. Nuance provides an app for iphone and Android, which we have tested as the most accurate. This guide presents how to set up the software and pair it with an iphone. Getting started The demo setup requires the computer and the smartphone to be connected to the same Wi-Fi, either via an access point or ad-hoc network. It simulates the phone call by using the microphone in the smartphone as a Wi-Fi-connected microphone, it is therefore important that both devices can communicate. Dragon is now existing as a tray icon that indicates whether the system is listening or not. If the microphone is turned off (not listening), the icon is a square red as pictured below. If the microphone is turned on (listening), the icon is a circular green as pictured below. When using the iphone as a microphone, the on/off is controlled by the iphone application. To get started with that, download the app and add your computer. If Bonjour is correctly installed it should automatically find your computer and Dragon profile. If not, you may need to enter IP and port number to manually connect. In case Bonjour is installed and the computer is not discovered, make sure that Dragon is running and the correct profile is loaded - you may need to restart the computer. For the visual learner Open the iphone application and press settings > Choose Find Computer > Choose your profile and computer name.
Press the Dragon button to turn the microphone on/off. If the button is red the microphone is off, if it is green the microphone is on. Open TARGIT and place the cursor in Decision Search (highlighted as standard), turn on the microphone and start asking. Remember to finish off your sentence with press enter as Dragon needs to send the keystroke in order for the Intelligent Wizard to initiate the command.
