Wireless network instructions Printing using the wireless network macos Note: This guide is for Mac OS X wireless printing on the UoA-WiFi network using built-in Airport card and Safari. Connecting to UoA-WiFi To print on the UoA wireless network, you must first be connected to UoA-WiFi. An instruction guide on how to connect can be downloaded from: http://www.auckland.ac.nz/wireless Downloading the wireless printing setup file The wireless printer driver file for macos be downloaded from: https://www.library.auckland.ac.nz/sites/public/files/documents/caps-mac-wireless-printing.zip When prompted, save this file on your computer. Note: If the link doesn t load, type the URL into the address bar of your internet browser. Installing the wireless printing setup file Note: Icons for different versions of macos - e.g. macos X, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite - may differ from those represented in this guide. After saving the setup file, double-click on the Popup icon: Next, double-click on the Popup.pkg installer icon: January 2016 Libraries and Learning Services

When prompted, enter your admin Name and Password then, click OK: When installation is completed, click Close: Printing on UoA-WiFi Check that you re logged on to UoA-WiFi and that you can browse the internet. When you print your document, select the printer caps-mac and the print settings you require then, click Print: January 2016 3
The Pharos Popup will open and prompt you to enter your username. Enter your University username then, click Print: Your print job will be sent to the caps-mac print queue and you will be able to print on the UoA-WiFi wireless network. Troubleshooting I want to uninstall the wireless printer but don t know how! Select Go then, Computer. This will bring up a file directory window. Select your Macintosh HD then, navigate through the following directories: Library/Application Support/Pharos/Utilities. In the Utilities directory, double-click Pharos Uninstaller. Enter ticks in the Pharos Popup windows until the process is complete. I click on Print but get an error message instead of a prompt to enter my username! If you click on Print and get the following message, you re not connected to the UoA-WiFi network: Check your wireless connection and wireless signal strength and reconnect if necessary. I have installed the macos driver, and when I enter my username, the job doesn t send to the printer. When I check the Printer status, it says: You need to install software to use this printer! You will need to install the Ricoh printer description which can be downloaded from: http://www.auckland.ac.nz/webdav/site/central/shared/for/current-students/student-it-essentials/wirelessnetwork/documents/ricohc2550osx106.dmg January 2016 4
After downloading the Ricoh printer description, the Install PPD popup will open. Click Continue: Click Software License Agreement and then, click Continue: Click Agree: Then, click Install: January 2016 5
When prompted, enter your admin Name and Password then, click OK: When installation is completed, click Close: I ve installed the Pharos Popup Client for macos but it didn t work after rebooting my computer. From your Apple menu, select System Preferences then, Users & Groups: January 2016 6
With your Admin account highlighted, select Login Items then, click the + button beneath the list of Login Items: Browse through: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Pharos/Popup.app then, click Add: The Pharos app should now appear in your list of Login Items: The next time you reboot your machine or log off and log on, the Popup app will launch automatically. You should then be able to print on the UoA-WiFi wireless network. January 2016 7
