Download and Install Milestone Software Please download the latest Milestone software and device pack before running the process. As of December, 2005, the latest version is listed as follow: - Software: XProtect Enterprise 5.6a - Device Pack: XProtect Device Pack 2.2 When you want to use Milestone software, please get the Software License Code (SLC) first. Please visit Milestone Web Site to get it. Step 1: go to the download homepage URL 0. Visit Milestone web site to download latest software and device package. Please refer http://www.milestonesys.com 1. Click Support in the top menu. 2. Click Downloads in the left menu. 3. Click XProtect Enterprise 5.6a to download the software package 4. Click XProtect Device Pack 2.2 to download the device pack. (if you are using XProtect Enterprise 5.6a, then the included device pack is version 2.2 already) - Page 4 -

For Non-brand devices or other not support devices, ex. the firmware version is A1D-P0V-V1.xx.xx-NB, please go to Milestone website: http://www.milestonesys.com/?cid=951, read the beta device package Release Notes and follow the instruction inside Note that the latest version Milestone XProtect Enterprise v5.6a contains latest device pack v2.2. This device pack is able to detect non-brand firmware already. 2. Click here to download the beta device package. - Page 9 -
Step 6: Install Milestone Software and input Software License Code 1. Double click on the MilestoneXProtectEnterprise.exe file to install it. 2. When you see below screen, please input your Software License Code. 3. Follow the installation wizard, and click Finish on the last step to complete the installation. - Page 10 -
Retrieving Device License Keys You must obtain a Device License Key (DLK) from Milestone for each device (IP network camera or IP video server) to be installed. Please go to Milestone website: http://www.milestonesys.com/?cid=595 Step 1: Software Registration 1. Click Software Registration link in the top menu. 2. Click Online Registration system. 3. Enter registered E-mail address 4. Enter with registered Password 5. Click Log in button to login 6. If you do not have a login account, click the New to the System? link, and follow the instructions to obtain an account. Note that the DLKs (Device License Key) are e-mailed to the specified e-mail address, so it is a good idea to use a single account for all persons who should be able to retrieve DLKs. - Page 11 -

Step 2: Add SLCs 1. After you log in, you can Add or Upgrade your SLCs (Software License Code). 2. Please add your SLC, if you added it successfully, you will see it on the list. 3. Click on the SLCs, then add your DLKs. - Page 13 -
Step 3: Add MAC into DLKs 1. Click on add new MAC to register a MAC Address. 2. Specify the MAC Address for the device. The MAC Address is a 12 digit hexadecimal (example: 000F7C001D82). Please check the MAC address of ACTi s device, and enter it. 3. Check SLCs and DLKs information on this homepage. 4. Click Edit Text to give a description on the specified MAC address. 5. Click Get DLKs by email, system will mail SLC and DLK to your registered e-mail address. 6. You are only allowed to install up to the number of cameras listed on your license sheet, regardless of the number of available DLKs. Note that it is now possible to REMOVE a MAC/DLK on-line in case of fault made during the registration or in case of a faulty camera. For security reason, it is only possible to remove 15% of the MAC s / DLK s per year. When these has been used up, you will need to send a request to Milestone support for deleting further. - Page 14 -
Importing DLKs (Device License Keys) After you received DLKs via e-mail, please import the DLKs into Milestone s Administrator tool Step 1: Import DLKs 1. To avoid having to specify each DLK manually, save the.dlk file attached to the e-mail 2. Open the Administrator by clicking the Administrator shortcut on the desktop. 3. In the Administrator, click the Import DLKs button. 4. Browse to the location where you have saved the.dlk file. Select the file, and click Open. 5. All Device License Keys from the file are now imported, and you do not need to specify each one manually. - Page 15 -
Adding a Device [Support Package] Step 1: input the IP Address 1. Configure IP address, password, etc. for the ACTi device 2. Click the Add Device button in the Administrator main window. 3. Enter device IP address, or select the Use DNS host names check box. Click Next. Step 2: input the password 1. Enter password for the administrator account (Admin) user. Default password for ACTi s device is 123456. 2. Leave the Autodetect Device option selected. Click Next. - Page 16 -
Step 3: add device successfully 1. When the device is detected, type the Device License Key (DLK) for the device (if the DLKs have been imported, the field is pre-filled with the correct DLK). Click Next. 2. Assign a descriptive name to the device, then click Finish. 3. The device is now installed successfully. 4. For ACTi devices, the firmware version is A1D-P0V-V1.xx.xx-AC, you will see the video device type is show ACTi. 5. For Non-brand devices, the firmware version is A1D-P0V-V1.xx.xx-NB, you will see the video device type is show Video:0501. - Page 17 -

Configuring the Monitor Layout Step 1: setup Monitor Layout 1. To set up the Monitor application, click the Monitor Manager button in the Administrator main window. 2. Select the Monitor layout size. Options are 1 1, 2 2, 3 3, etc. up to an 8 8 grid camera layout. 3. Click a camera position, and select a camera in the Select Camera list. Repeat until all required cameras are present in the Monitor layout. 4. Select the required Hot Spot Window functionality. The Hot Spot displays a selected camera in a larger view, and can be used for point-and-click PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) operations on some cameras. Possible Hot Spot options are: i. None (no Hot Spot enabled; default). ii. iii. Hot Spot (select layout size for the Hot Spot). In Separate Window (Hot Spot is a separate, floating window). 5. Select Carousel if you want the Hot Spot to automatically change between cameras in the Monitor layout. You specify the interval between shifts in the Seconds Between Shifts field (default value is 5 seconds). 6. To access settings for the camera selected in the Monitor layout, click the Settings button. - Page 21 -

Use USB Joystick with Milestone Step 1: Supported USB Joystick Now, you can use the joystick to control PTZ on Milestone Software. You must use a USB joystick with an analog representation for the z-axis (slider or wheel). You can find latest beta driver from milestone web server. 2. The URL is http://www.milestonesys.com/?cid=951 3. Please download and install it. Step 3: Install your Joystick: 1. Insert the USB connector, and then the OS will find your connector. 2. If it has gaming software, please install it. 3. After you installed it, the joystick can be seen in the Windows "Game controller". - Page 23 -
Step 4: Select the IP Speed Dome 1. Double click Administrator on Desktop. 2. Choose the IP Speed Dome with PTZ function. 3. Then click on General Settings. - Page 24 -
Step 5: Click on the Joystick Setup [Support Package] 1. Click on the Joystick Setup button. 2. Enable the Z-axis, then you can use this to control Zoom in and zoom out. 3. Then, you can assign the button to do action. - Page 25 -

Milestone Integration Notice with TCP 2.0 Milestone software supports ACTi firmware version 1.0 series, as of March, 2006. You need to check your device first, if they are version 1.0 series firmware, then the previous section applies on Milestone + ACTi. If they are version 2.0 series firmware, then you need to change the firmware to version 1.0 mode. Step 1: Check your firmware version, click on System Info 1. Check firmware version, and see if your firmware is v2.0 series In the above example: A1D-P2N-V2.02.05-AC, then it is version 2.0 firmware, then you need to follow-up and change it to version 1.0 mode. On the contrary, for firmware like: A1D-P0V-V1.04.14-AC, then it is version - Page 28 -
