confetti.co.uk print centre creating a table planner your step-by-step guide
This guide has been created to help you use the online confetti.co.uk print centre In this guide, we will be creating a table planner, using our Table Planner Kit, as an example of how to use the print centre to create your own personalised and professional-looking stationery from the comfort of your own home. Create your own with Confetti using our easy to use table planner kits available in a wide range of designs and colours. Each kit contains an A3 board with pre-cut coordinating background mounts for up to 12 tables, a top table and a host table, plus 4 pieces of quality A4 paper. For a more sophisticated look, use our metallic frame with mount which comes with a pre-scored mount, and a frame. Downloading the templates For this table planner kit you will need to download templates 1 & 2. Simply click on the link Template 1: and it will take you to the bottom of the page where the templates can be found.
Download the templates, as before, and save them to Desktop or My Documents. This will make it easier to edit the templates, as they will appear as normal Word documents, which you will be more familiar with. Amending Template 1 title/top table Amend the font - and colour (Standard) (Custom) to match your theme, and change the size of the text if necessary (i.e. long names). You may also wish to use coloured paper rather than plain white to match your theme and use a contrasting colour font to match the theme and mounting card. This is personal preference.
If you have a non-traditional top table, such as a larger top table, simply amend as necessary, and also, if all of your tables have names, simply amend Top Table or Table 1 etc. to your table names. If you can t fit all top table guests on one line, you can amend the seating so that the Bride & Groom have their own line and other names are listed either side as above. You are now ready to print.
Printing Template 1 As noted above, this template should be printed on A4 paper and this can be any colour of your choice to match your theme. Remember if using coloured paper, to choose a font colour that is still visible on the paper. The choice of paper can then be mounted onto the co-ordinating coloured mounting card that is supplied within the Table Planner Kit. Simply cut around the lines printed on the template and these are the correct size to mount onto the cards provided and leave a border. Amending Template 2 - Rectangular Guest Tables Simply change each text box to match your chosen font and colour.
Depending on the number of guests sitting at your tables, you may need to adjust the font size to ensure that they fit the template. NB do not resize the text box as they will be the incorrect size to fit onto the mount cards. Amend the details and add your table name instead of number, if applicable. To amend names, simply highlight them all and over-type with your guest names. You can fit 4 tables per page, so simply save multiple versions of this to ensure that you have all of your tables saved, or print and amend as you go along. This is personal preference. If you don t wish to embellish your table planner with trims, the alternative is to decorate the table listings in print.
If you have an image that you wish to use on your stationery, you can add this. Step one Click at the top of the text box and insert your image (see Save the Date examples below for how). You will have to resize the image until it is a suitable size to fit onto the template. Simply use the blocks on one of the corners, click and drag to re-size the image, or double-click on the image and select the size tab to amend to a new (or specific) size. See below for examples in using images on your table planner.
If you wish to add a left-hand border, it is a little more difficult in this case, and involves creating an additional text box for the table details. To do this you will need to follow the instructions below Create a new text box Make sure that the text box you create is the same height as the template one, and ensure that there are no borders, and it is not filled. Align the table details in the new text box to the right in order to allow room for your border, and you are now ready to insert your border.
Now ensure that you click on the original (main) part of the text box, and align the page to the left. You can now insert your border image You may need to move the image and resize so it fits the template. If creating border-edge table planners, you may wish to print a test page of this prior to printing on your chosen paper, to ensure that the names and image fit within the borders that create your cut-out guide.
Printing Template 2 As noted above, this template should be printed on A4 paper and this can be any colour of your choice to match your theme. Here are some examples of how to trim your table planners to match your theme, with trims available online or in-store: Simply print and carefully cut out along the outlines of each box and they should fit perfectly on the rectangular mounts provided in the kit or the circular mounts (which can be purchased separately). Then glue them onto the mounts, arrange on the A3 board and glue down.
