Configure Internet Explorer for MyEvolv Overview MyEvolv requires a specific browser setting configuration to ensure optimal performance. Incorrect browser settings will result in page loading issues and scripting errors. Each setting in the checklist below must be completed. Details A. Clear browser cache B. Browser history settings C. Trusted sites D. Custom Level settings E. Compatibility View settings F. Pop-up Blocker settings G. Disable spell check in Internet Explorer Evolv will not work in other web browsers such as Google Chrome and Safari. Evolv supports the following versions of Internet Explorer: 9 (compatibility mode recommended) 10 (compatibility mode) 11 (compatibility mode) Manually Configure the Browser (see page 9 for navigation help) A. Clear the Browser Cache It may be necessary at times to clear the browser cache, especially after an upgrade. Clearing the cache may remove Compatibility View settings. Check settings after clearing the browser cache. 1. Within the browser, select Tools and Delete browsing history. 1
2. Check the following boxes: Preserve Favorites website data, Temporary Internet files and website files, Cookies and website data 3. Select Delete B. Browser History Settings (keep the Internet Option window open for steps C & D) 1. Within the browser, select Tools and then Internet Options. 2
2. Select the General tab. Go down to Browsing history, check the box next to Delete browsing history on exit and select Settings. 3. Under Check for newer versions of stored pages, select Every time I visit the webpage and then OK. C. Trusted Sites 1. Within Internet Options, Under the Security Tab select Trusted Sites and then Sites. 3
2. In the Add this website to the zone: dialog box, type the URL for the myevolv server (https://webapps.yapinc.org/evolv_cs), select Add and then Close. D. Custom level settings 1. While still in Internet Options under the Security tab, select Custom level 2. Enable/Disable ActiveX controls as specified below within the Trusted Site. There are ActiveX settings present in IE11/IE10 that are of no significance to MyEvolv. All ActiveX controls can be enabled with the exception of Only allow approved domains to use ActiveX without prompt. 4

4. Select OK and then OK again in the Internet Options window to close. E. Compatibility View Settings 1. Within the browser, select Tools and then Compatibility View settings. 6

Pop-up Blocker Settings (this only applies if Pop-up Blocker is turned on) 1. Within the browser, select Tools, Pop-up Blocker and then Pop-up Blocker settings. 2. G. Disable spell check in Internet Explorer When typing in Evolv in a treatment plan or assessment for example, certain words are automatically spell checked/corrected. Certain words that have an accent will get automatically corrected such as fiancé or façade. This is a spell check feature built into the IE browser and not actually Evolv that is making the change. Evolv will not save if these foreign characters exist. 1. Go to: Tools > Manage Add ons > Spelling Correction 2. Uncheck Enable spelling correction 8
How to access the menu bar. IE Navigation Help Right click at that top of the browser page in the space next to the webpage tab. Select Menu bar The menu bar is now displayed at the top of the webpage. (see below) You can turn this off again by right clicking to display the menu options and selecting Menu bar to uncheck.
