Introduction In normal use of the CDS 32 Pro system, operating files are created that in time could fill the hard disk drive and halt the system. It is very important to remove the old files after they are no longer needed. CDS 32 Pro File Utilities are included to make housekeeping of the system a simple task. Referring to the picture on the front of this manual, on the right hand side of the window are a group of Radio Buttons that allow you to choose the desired function. Below is a discussion of each of the utility functions. Audio File ManagerError! Bookmark not defined. Audio File Manager will allow you to manage cart files. Delete Audio File Manager will allow you to delete old audio files from the system. To delete an audio file, select the name of the file you wish to remove with the mouse and click the DELETE button. You should use caution when deleting audio files that might be listed in a rotate file. You will need to use the Rotate Editor to delete the reference to a deleted cart in any rotate file that it is listed in. If all carts in a rotate file are deleted, you should use Rotate File Manager to delete the rotate file. Allows you to rename an existing Cart (Audio File) to a new name. You should use caution when renaming audio files that might be listed in a rotate file. You must use the Rotate Editor to delete the reference to a renamed cart in any rotate file that it is listed in, then add the new name to the list. CDS 32 Pro supports up to 4 hard drives to store digital audio. By default, all Move audio files are recorded drive D:. Also, any file received from another unit on the network will be stored on drive D:. To make use of additional hard drive storage, use the MOVE option in the File Utilities to move audio files from drive D: to another available drive. Network Audio Manager This utility is used to send audio files (carts) and rotate files created on one workstation to others via the LAN or WAN network. After these files are sent they become immediately available for use on the targeted workstation. When Network Audio Manager is selected, you will be presented with a list of available workstations to send the file(s) to. These will be shown in the Target Workstation(s) window on the right side of the screen. Select the file to send and select the desired Target Workstation(s). Click on Send the SEND button to send the file to the other workstation. Remember that when you send a file to another computer, a copy will remain on the originating computer. You may delete this file when you feel it is necessary. However, we recommend you leave this copy here for backup purposes as long as the Cart is valid. When you choose to send a rotate file, all carts contained in it will also be sent. If an audio file (cart) with the same name already exists on the destination workstation, you will be prompted to overwrite it. However, if you are attempting to send a rotate file and a rotate file or cart with the same name already exist on the destination workstation, you cannot overwrite it. You must use the utilities on that workstation to delete the file if necessary. This is a safety feature by design. Rotate File Manager Rotate Manager will allow you to manage rotate files. Delete To remove a rotate file from the system, select the name of the rotate file with the mouse and click on the DELETE button. As a safety feature, this will only delete the rotate file itself, not the carts contained in it..
