AFL manufactures a broad range of factory terminated and tested multi-fibre cable assemblies. These assemblies are available in various fibre types and counts, cable constructions and connector options. Pre-terminated fibre optic cable assemblies are suitable for horizontal or vertical deployment in a range of applications. Pre-terminated cables offer the advantage of reduced time and cost associated with on-site cable breakout and connector terminations. They are ideally suited where narrow installation timeframes are applicable or on-site terminations are hazardous or pose OH&S issues. Features High quality, machine polished connectors for consistent low loss performance Geometry-compliant connector endfaces offer low loss repeatability and intermateability Standards-based testing practices provide repeatable and traceable results Video-based inspection ensures connector endfaces are free of defects and contamination Large stocked range of multifibre cable constructions and connectors for fast turnaround times Individual packaging and labelling provides protection, test data and traceability Various construction options including glanding, labelling and polarity options Reduced equipment cost, training and skill base required for installation Faster and less disruptive installations 67

Specifications ASSEMBLY DIMENSIONS Breakout length is measured from the fibre breakout point to the connector ferrule cable assembly length is measured from connector to connector (including the breakout length). End A Breakout Point End B Breakout Length Cable Assembly Length Breakout Length CONNECTOR STAGGERING Staggering is required when a protective hauling mechanism is used also available as a stand-alone option. Staggered connectors are paired and spaced 60 mm apart. Unless specified otherwise, the pairs follow the standard colour code and numbering: blue/orange, green/brown, grey/white etc. with pair 1 blue/orange being the longest breakout length. Multimode assemblies are bi-directionally link loss tested as per the requirements of AS/NZS ISO/IEC 14763.3. Single-mode assemblies are connector IL and return loss (RL) tested at both 1310 and 1550 nm as per ANSI/TIA/EIA-455-17/107A. Pigtails or non standard assemblies are OTDR single direction tested at either MM 850/1300 nm or SM 1310/1550 nm wavelengths. All UPC and APC Single-mode connectors exceed the RL and geometry requirements of GR-326-CORE (Generic Requirements for Singlemode Optical Connectors and Jumper Assemblies). All connector endface conditions exceed the visual inspection criteria of IEC 61300-3-35 and AS/NZS ISO/IEC 14763.3. All test cords used for connector IL and RL testing are reference grade as per AS/NZS ISO/IEC 14763.3 specifications. All test/master cords are inspected and cleaned prior to each connector test. Multimode test launch conditions comply with ISO/IEC 14763.3, 14763.3 Amd.1 and IEC 61280-4-1. All testing adapters used are of Single-mode grade with high tolerance ceramic sleeves. All assemblies meet the requirements of AS/ACIF S008 (Requirements for customer cabling products/acma). TIA/EIA 455 standard test procedures apply to all AFL cable assemblies and components. 71
