Remote Access at Fraser Health Fraser Health s (FH) Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows authorized FH physicians and employees remote access to their software and data, so they may work while not at an FH site. VPN provides secure information transport by authenticating users and encrypting data to prevent unauthorized persons from reading the information transmitted. 2. Cisco VPN Client Software on an FH Laptop In order to run the Cisco VPN Client software on an FH laptop, you will need to call the Service Desk at 604-585-5544 to request that they install the Cisco VPN Client. 3. Cisco VPN Client Software on a Non-FH Computer/Laptop The Service Desk only supports FH computing devices. The following steps must be completed on non- FH computers/laptops: 1. Download and install the Cisco VPN Client a. Open your internet browser and go to http://www.fraserhealth.ca/vpn b. Click on the link to download the Cisco VPN client c. Click Next to begin the installation
d. Click I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next. e. Click Install 2
f. The Installation Wizard will proceed with installing the Cisco VPN client g. Click Finish 3
4. Using the Cisco VPN Client Login to access PACS WEB 1. Open the Cisco VPN Client from your Start Menu. Enter remote.fraserhealth.ca/fullclient in the text box and click Connect 2. You will prompted for your VPN username and passcode as seen in the screen shot below. The username field format is your FH Windows login username with @fha (i.e., asmith9@fha). The passcode field is your PIN and the latest six-digit number displayed on your RSA SecurID automated token. 3. Click OK to connect. When the connection is successfully established the client will appear as seen below. 4
4. Open a new Internet Explorer window and enter the following web address http://pacweb/ami/ in the web address bar or use your existing PACS Web IE shortcut icon saved on your desktop as seen in the screen shot below. 5. Click on Start Centricity Web (NOTE, if you have not accessed PACS Web since June 25, 2013 you will need to download the new Active X component to be able to log in and view images successfully. Please see APPENDIX below for this instructions. 6. Log into PACS Web 7. When you re finished, logout of PACS Web 8. To logoff of the Cisco VPN client, click on the Cisco VPN icon found on the right hand side of the taskbar and then click on the 'Disconnect' button. 5
APPENDIX CENTRICITY PACS WEB UPGRADE SPa10 How to download and install new Active X components Please note You must have admin privileges to your PC and/or laptop in order for you to successfully complete this download/install - The new PACS Web version does not work with any 64bit Internet Explorer application and it does not work with IE10 and IE11. 1) Log into FHA network via VPN 2) Open a new Internet Explorer browser window 3) Click on the Tools button as seen on the screen shot shown below. Please note that this Tools button is found at a different location depending on which Internet Explorer version you are using. The screen shot below is taken from IE8 4) Next, click on Internet Options as seen above squared off in red 6
5) A new window will open as seen below 6) Click on the Security tab as seen above circled in red 7) Click on the Custom level button as seen above squared off in red 8) Security Settings window will open as seen below 4 settings are needed to be changed in order for you to successfully download and install the active x components. 9) Scroll down to the portion that shows the ActiveX controls and plug-ins settings 7
10) Ensure the following four settings are set to Enable as seen below circled in red 8
11) Click OK when done 12) You will get the following pop up window to confirm that you want to change the settings for this zone. Click Yes 13) You should be back to the window as seen below 14) Click OK 9
15) Now, type http://pacweb/ami/ in the web address bar or if you already have a shortcut icon saved on your desktop go ahead and double click on it 16) Click on Start Centricity Enterprise Web as seen circled in red 17) A pop up window will appear and asks Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown plublisher to make changes to this computer 18) Click Yes 19) You will see the screen shot below as your computer downloads and installs the Active X components 20) The install will take a min or two. Once it is done you will see the usual PACS Web login screen. 21) Log in and ensure that you are able to view images 22) Once this is confirmed, go back to step 4 and DISABLE the four security settings that you enabled in steps 10 as you do not need to keep the four security settings enabled once the Active X components are installed on your PC. Please remember to do this last step as this may be a security risk for your computer if it is not done. 10
