PRESENTATION OVERVIEW SECTION 3: Objective & Scope

OBJECTIVE & SCOPE - 1 The goal of SAPI&NS Satellite Portable & LocalizatioN System Feasibility Study aimed at investigating the technical feasibility and economic viability of a dual use service solution for Search & Rescue (S&R) mission, to improve: The Safety of operation by management of significant data (biomedical, position, ); The efficiency of the operation by the provision of dual service, to facilitate cooperation. SAPI&NS service methodology design: Interview & User Needs Scenario Service System Requirements Architecture

OBJECTIVE & SCOPE - 2 S&R operations are characterized by a similar set of constraints, the operational environments are unfriendly and time is critical: any delay can results in dramatic consequences, such as the human losses. No Images acquisition No Tracking of vehicles No Tracking of rescuers No Monitoring of the health status parameters of the victim No Cooperation between different entities No Monitoring of the Healt Status Parameters of the rescuers S&R without SAPI&NS No Centralized monitoring of the mission evolution

OBJECTIVE & SCOPE - 3 The goal of the feasibility study was to build up a concept of sustainable service solution that helps to overcame the current difficulties of S&R mission, often unpredictable in their nature and demands.
