Never install the camera near electric or magnetic fields Install the product away from TV, radio transmitter, magnet, electric motor, transformer, audio speakers since the magnetic fields generate from above devices would distort the video image. 3. Never install or use the product in areas exposed to water, oil or gas The water, oil or gas may result in operation failure, electric shock or fire. Do not use this unit near water-for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, in an unprotected outdoor installation, or any area which is classified as a wet location. 4. Power Cord Protection Touching the wet power cord with hands or touching the power cord with wet hands may result in electric shock. WARRANTY Sentry US warrants that at the time of shipment products manufactured by Sentry US to be free of defects in material and workmanship. Should a defect appear with one year (12 months) from date of shipment, Sentry US will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective equipment. This equipment shall not be accepted for repair or return without prior notification by Sentry US. This warranty does not extend to any Sentry US product that has been subject to improper or incorrect installation, misuse, accident, or in violation of installation instructions provided by Sentry US. Absolutely No Returns will be accepted if any component is missing/damaged. INSTALLATION Installing the Microphone The ASM-A microphone is designed for surface mounting on the wall. This microphone has an omni-directional monitoring range of 100ft 2 / 9m 2. The ASM-B microphone is designed for surface mounting to a ceiling or wall. This microphone has an omni-directional monitoring range of 380ft 2 / 35m 2. For best results, install the microphone as close to the desired area of coverage as possible. Avoid mounting microphone to ceiling heights in excess of 10ft, or near air vents, refrigeration units, or other audio interferences. Located on back side of ASM-A / ASM-B is a wire with 3 bare leads. BLACK: Ground (common) YELLOW: Audio RED: 12V DC Using recommended wiring, connect as follows: BLACK: to terminal G (Ground) YELLOW: to terminal A (Audio) RED: to terminal V (12V DC) ASM-A can be mounted on a wall plate for indoor purposes and it can also be mounted on a junction box cover plate for outdoor purposes. Plate is not included in kit. NOTE: Make wiring connection on back side of microphone before installing microphone to ceiling or flat surface. Installing the Audio Interface Adapter The ASP-001 Audio Interface Adapter serves as an interface device between the microphone and the audio receiver (DVR/VCR, PC sound card, etc.). The ASP-001 can be installed several ways: 1. Wall mounted close to DVR/VCR or IP Network Camera, etc. 2. Attached to side of the receiving device using two-way ¼ adhesive tape (not provided). WIRING CONNECTION FROM MICROPHONE TO AUDIO INTERFACE ADAPTER Bring in other end of wiring from microphone and connect to MIC INPUT terminal block on ASP-001 marked, G, A and V. To apply power to the system, P12DCL500 12V DC linear power supply is recommended. First connect small end (female 90 plug) into 12V DC jack on the ASP-001 audio interface, then connect 2-prong power block to a standard 110V A outlet or power strip. CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ASP-001 AND A DVR, IP NETWORK CAMERA WITH 3.5mm MONO/RCA TYPE AUDIO CONNECTIONS To make connection to DVR, plug the 3.5mm cable (supplied) into the audio out jack located on the front of ASP-001, connect the RCA end of the cable to the DVR s audio in jack. CONNECTION BETWEEN ASP-001 AND A DVR, IP NETWORK CAMERA OR PC SOUNDCARD WITH 3.5mm STEREO TYPE CONNECTION. To make connection, plug the 3.5mm stereo cable (supplied) into the audio out jack located on the front of the ASP-001.
