Serial EEPROM, Serial Flash and Application A complete portfolio of compatible Serial EEPROMs and Serial Flash for flexible parameter and code storage STMicroelectronics offers a complete portfolio of Serial EEPROMs, Application Specific Serial NonVolatile Memories (ASSNVM) and Serial Flash memories from 1 Kbit to 16 Mbit. These products meet the requirements for both parameter and code storage. ST serial nonvolatile memories are an industry standard, manufactured with submicron technology and offering worldleading performance. Standard EEPROM EEPROM is the most flexible nonvolatile memory, featuring byte level write, without the need of the erase function before writing a new value. This makes it ideal for parameter storage and well suited for small code storage (high densities). ST's wide range of highquality Serial EEPROMs are available: in densities from 1Kb to 1Mb with I 2 C, SPI and MICROWIRE bus at 5V, 3V, 2.5V and 1.8V supply voltages Serial Flash ST s new fast and highdensity Serial Flash families offer high system speed, sequential read capability, low power consumption, small package and low cost. Sector erasable page prograable M25Pxx Serial Flash memories are dedicated to code storage, while the M25PExx Serial Flash products are targeted at emerging large serial parameter storage. Serial Flash memories are available in densities from 512Kb up to 16Mb with SPI standard serial bus at 2.7V3.6V supply voltage Application Specific Serial N.V.M. Application Specific Serial N.V.M. provide features either particular to given applications, or are designed on special customer request for specific purposes (custom products). Applications Many new applications require Serial EEPROM and Serial Flash devices, especially in: Automotive (engine, dashboard, car radio, airbag and ABS), Telecom (GSM, phone, answering machine, fax, modem, networking), Consumer (TV, SetTop Box, monitor, camcorder, MP3 player), Industrial (motor control, oscilloscope, power/gas meter, measuring instruments, home appliance) Computer (printer, hard disk driver, mother board, CDROM, keyboard). 2
