Do not push foreign objects into the slots or holes in the product. Do not attempt to open this product yourself. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Do not allow children access to plastic bags. SAFETY WARNINGS Before using this product, read and follow all warnings and instructions. This product is not intended for use by young children. Young children should be properly supervised. This product is intended for household use only and not for commercial or industrial use. Do not expose to dripping or splashing. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the product. Allow suitable distances around the product for sufficient ventilation. Ventilation should not be impeded by covering ventilation openings with items such as newspapers, table cloths, curtains and the like. Make sure the speaker is adjusted to a stable position. Damage caused by using this product in an unstable position or by failure to follow any other warning or precaution contained within this user manual will not be covered by warranty. If at any time in the future you should need to dispose of this product please note that: All batteries and accumulators need to be removed from this product (Removal of Waste Batteries and Accumulators). WARNING: Prolonged exposure to loud sounds from personal music players may lead to temporary or permanent hearing loss. When participating in the traffic listening to a personal music player can make the listener less aware of potential dangers such as approaching cars. 4

Microphone Basic Operation Charging the built-in rechargeable battery Make sure that the unit is turned off, see chapter Power on/off/lock the unit for instructions. Connect the unit via the USB cable to your computer. The built-in rechargeable battery will automatically recharge via the USB cable. The charging process will take about 4 hours. When the battery is fully charged the indicator will display as follow. Remark: Charging for the first time we recommend to charge for about 12 hours. Note: Make sure that the computer is turned on. Battery status indicator At the right top side of the display the battery status is displayed. When the battery is completely full or almost full the indicator is displayed as follow. If the battery is almost empty the battery indicator is displayed as follow. 5

Power ON/OFF/LOCK the unit Slide the ON/OFF/LOCK (2) switch to the ON position and hold it for 3 seconds to turn the unit ON or OFF. Slide the ON/OFF/LOCK (2) switch to the LOCK position to key-lock the unit. Main menu ON/OFF HOLD Once the MP5 player has been turned on you will enter the main menu. It looks as below. Settings menu When entered settings you can set the following: Display settings Here you can set: Light time, choose the time that the display needs to be lightened. Brightness, choose the level of the screen brightness. Note: Higher setting in the light time and brightness will affect the battery play time negatively. 6

Light mode, Choose the light mode. When all dark is set and the light time is over the screen will turn black (backlight is off). When Penumbra is set and the light time is over the screen will enter a energy saving mode, it is still possible to read the screen. Note: This will affect the battery play time. Move style, here you can set the way that the displays will appear / disappear. System setting Here you can set: Upgrade, here you can upgrade the firmware. Note: only if new firmware is available. Restorable, here you can reset to factory default settings. Screen Calibration, here you can calibrate the touch screen function, use this if the touch screen function does not work properly. Language, here you can set the preferred language. System Information, here you can see the system information like firmware version and free memory space. Autoshut time, Here you can set the time to auto shut down. When the set time is over, the unit will shut down (if no key is pressed). Music mode Use the stylus to touch the music music mode menu. icon on the screen. Play music Click on the play button to start the playback, press again to pause the playback. Volume Click on the vol+ / vol- button to adjust the volume level. Previous / next text Click on the previous button to play the previous track. Click on the next button to play the next track. Menu Press to open the pull-down menu. Here you can set the following: Repeat mode: Once: play the selected track 1 time. Repeat: repeat the selected track. All: Play all tracks 1 time. Repeat all: repeat all tracks. Intro: play the first 10 seconds of every track. Play mode: In order: The tracks will be played in playlist order. Shuffle: The tracks will be played in random order. MSEQ: Here the sound effect can be set. You can select: 3D, Bass, LEQ Note: You need to set the EQ Sel. on MSEQ to activate the MSEQ settings. EQ SEL. Here the equalizer can be set. You can select: Normal, MSEQ, Rock, Pop, Classic, Bass, Jazz, UserEQ. User EQ Setup: Here the EQ can be adjusted to your personal preference. After adjusting you can press yes to saves changes and exit. Or no to exit without saving changes. A-B Repeat This function is to repeat a part of a track. To set this press to set the start point (A). Press for the second time to set end point (B). The unit will now start to repeat A-B selection. Press again to stop the A-B repeat function. Lyrics mode Press to display the Lyrics. Note: this player only supports.lrc files. Current play Double click on current play to resume playing the current song. All Music Double click on all music to enter your music library sorted by file name. Select and double click to play the desired song or use < / > buttons to scroll through the songs. 8

It is possible to create a favorites list. To create this list select the desired song. Press to open the pull-down menu. Press add favorite to add the song to the favorites list or press exit to close the pull-down menu. Artist Double click on artist to enter your music library sorted by artist. Select the desired artist which you would like to hear and enter the artist play list by clicking on the artist name. Select and double click to play the desired song or use < / > buttons to scroll through the songs. It is possible to create a favorites list. To create this list select the desired artist list / song. Press to open the pull-down menu. Press add favorite to add the artist list / song to the favorites list or press exit to close the pull-down menu. Album Double click on album to enter your music library sorted by album. Select the desired album which you would like to hear and enter the album play list by clicking on the album name. Select and double click to play the desired song or use < / > buttons to scroll through the songs. It is possible to create a favorites list. To create this list select the desired album / song. Press to open the pull-down menu. Press add favorite to add the album / song to the favorites list or press exit to close the pull-down menu. My favorite Double click on my favorite to enter your favorite list. Select and double click to play the desired song or use < / > buttons to scroll through the songs. To delete a file, select the file which you would like to delete. Press to open the pull-down menu. Press delete file to delete, press clear up to delete the complete favorite list or press exit to exit the pull-down menu. Record This list shows all files that you have recorded in record mode. Select and double click to play the desired song or use < / > buttons to scroll through the records. Video Mode Touch the video icon on the screen. You will now enter the video mode. Select the desired movie you wish to view as you can see below. Once selected the unit will automatically start to play the selected file. 9

Display symbol index in video mode Picture size adjustment / zoom Volume + Volume - Return to previous screen Resume last playback / Play / Pause Previous or hold to rewind Next or hold to fast forward Movie player interface Whenever a movie will be played the Movie player interface will be displayed. Time bar Volume level Movie display Picture size adjustment / zoom Press to adjust the picture size. This needs to be used when a movie does not fit in the screen. Volume level adjustment Press vol+ or vol- to adjust the volume to the desired level. Return to the previous screen Press to return to the previous menu (leave video mode). Resume last playback 10

When you have left video mode and you want to resume the movie you where playing last time. Select the same video and start playback. Press and the unit will jump to the part where you have stopped the last time. Play / pause Press or to pause / resume the playback. Previous movie / rewind & next movie / fast forward Press the skip to the previous movie. Press and hold to rewind current movie (scan). Release to resume normal playback. Press to skip to the next movie. Press and hold to play fast forward current movie (scan). Release to resume normal playback. Supported video formats. Photo viewer mode Touch the photo icon on the screen. You will now enter the photo viewer mode. Select the desired photo you wish to view as you can see below. Once selected the unit will automatically show the selected file. Record mode (voice recorder) Touch the record Display symbol index in record mode Record button pause stop Pull-down menu Return to previous screen </> No function icon on the screen. You will now enter record mode. Record mode interface Whenever in record mode below interface will be shown. Microphone status File name Quality mode Recording time left Recording time Operating the voice recorder Press to start or if paused resume the voice recording. Press to pause the voice recording. Press to stop the voice recording in record mode and in pause mode. The unit will now ask if you wish to save the file. Press YES to save. Press NO to stop the recording without saving recorded audio. Recorder settings Press to open the pull down menu. Here you can set the following: Quality: Low rate, less quality but saves memory space. High rate, good quality but uses more memory space. Volume: Select the volume level of the record. 1 is low, 4 is high. 13

Apps mode Touch the apps icon on the screen. You will now enter apps mode. Display symbols in apps mode </> select next or previous app / folder / file Enter Return to previous screen Delete selected file Operation explorer app When opened explorer mode a list of all files and folders will be displayed. Double click on a file to open / play it. To delete a file, select the file and press. Now the delete sub-menu will be opened. Press delete file to delete or exit to keep the file. Operation Stopwatch app </> have in this mode no function. When opened the Stopwatch mode slide the ON/OFF/HOLD switch in the ON/OFF direction to start the stopwatch. Press to reset the stopwatch. E-Book mode Start / stop Touch the E-Book icon on the screen. You will now enter E-book mode. Note: This unit can only read.txt and.lrc files Display symbols in E-book mode </> select next or previous folder / file / page Up Return to previous screen Down Delete selected file Pull-down menu Double click on a file or folder to open it. Use < / > to turn the pages. Press to open the pull-down menu. Here you can set the following: Page jump: Insert the page number where you wish to jump to. Save mark: Choose a empty slot to save the bookmark (current file and page). Load mark: Select a saved bookmark to open it. Del mark: Delete a saved bookmark. Set font: Select the size of the text, small / middle / big. 14

Set color: Set the color of the text, 1 = white, 2 = purple, 3 = turquoise. Browser mode: Select auto mode, when selected this the pages will flip automatically after a preset time. Or select manual mode to flip the pages manually by pressing < / >. Flip time: Set the auto flip time for when selected auto mode in browser mode. Choose between 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 seconds. Mode: Select the background theme. Choose between theme 1 = purple, theme 2 = blue, theme 3 = blue with stripes. Radio mode Touch the radio icon on the screen. You will now enter radio mode. Note: the earphone needs to be connected. Without this you will get no reception. Display symbol index in radio mode < / > Left / Right in pull down menu, in main interface no function. Volume + Volume - Search down (lower frequency) or previous preset. Search up (higher frequency) or next preset. Return to previous screen. Pull down menu. Up Down Radio mode interface Whenever in radio mode below interface will be shown. Volume indicator Frequency indicator Preset number Region setting 15

Channel search Press / for manual search. Press and hold / for auto-search. Press to open the pull-down menu. Here you can set the following: Search by hand Use this function to search the channels by hand as explain above (channel search). Enter this mode by pressing search by hand and >. Auto search Use this function to make a completely automatic channel search. The found channels will automatically added to the preset list. Enter this mode by pressing auto search and >. Preset mode When this mode is active you can t search new channels but only flip between the preset channels by pressing / buttons. Enter this mode by pressing preset mode and >. Save channel Use this function to save a channel. Search with channel search the preferred channel. Open the pull-down menu and select save channel, press > and select the preferred channel number to save. Delete channel Use this function to delete a saved channel. Open the pull-down menu and select delete channel, press > and select the preferred channel number you wish to delete. Stereo switch Use this function to switch between mono/stereo mode. When mono is selected the player will only output sound at one side of the earphone. Open the pull-down menu and select stereo switch, press > and select the preferred mode you wish to use. Receive area Use this function to receive the correct band with for the region where you are located. Open the pull-down menu and select receive area, press > and select the correct area. FM Record Use this function to record the current the radio broadcasting. Open the pull-down menu and select FM record, press >. Now the record menu will be opened. For operation instructions refer to chapter Record mode. 16

MicroSD Card slot It is possible to add extra memory by inserting a MicroSD card into the card-slot (max 8 GB). Follow below instructions to insert a MicroSD card. Note: if you insert the MicroSD card incorrectly this may damage the card or unit.
