Introduction Guide to install and use AVerMedia AVerVision application. The bundled AVerVision software offers you different ways to use the document camera for your presentation needs, record video or capture still image with your computer. Minimum system requirements for PC Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP or higher processor 3 GHz Pentium 4 or Intel core 2 duo or better (recommended) Windows 2000 Professional (SP4), Windows XP Professional (SP2) or Home (SP2), Vista (32-bit or 64-bit) 512 MB (1GB recommended for Vista) 60MB of available hard-disk space RJ-45 100T, or 802.11b WLAN connection (802.11g recommended) Before installing the application make sure the document camera is not connected to the computer USB port. 1. Place Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. When the installation main screen appears, click PC Camera Applications and then follow the on screen instructions. 2. Read the Software License Agreement and click YES. English Deutsch Français 3. Click Next to install on the specified location. If you want to install to a different folder, click Browse. 4. Enter customer information and select Anyone who uses this computer or only for me then click Next. Note: For multiple user accounts, AVerVision software would not be available to other accounts when only for me is selected. Italiano Español Česky E-1
5. When the installation is completed, click Finish. The system will now prepare the Bonjour Installer. This program must be installed to use the Network feature. 6. Click Next and then follow the on screen instructions. 7. Read the Software License Agreement. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next. 8. Using the AVerVision Application for PC To run the application, click start > Programs > AVerVision 3 > AVerVision 3 or double click AVerVision 3 icon on your computer desktop. Fit the video screen on the entire screen. 2 In full screen mode, press ESC or move the cursor to the upper right corner of the screen and click to revert back to window mode. 3 Minimize the video screen to a button on the task bar. 4 Display the information of the software. Pan the enlarged image up, down, left and right. 5 To show the arrow buttons, move the cursor to the lower left of the video screen. Show/hide the document camera control panel. Use this to 2 operate the document camera and adjust the presentation screen. Start/stop video recording. 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 Open the captured image or saved video file. On the still image preview screen, the user may use the Annotation tools on the control panel to draw and overlay text, line and shape. Print out the screen image. The image can also be printed in PDF format or export the image to SMART Board software, that if the software is available in the computer. Show/hide the Network control panel. Use this to remotely view shared video from the list or share video thru a local area network (LAN) connection. If the Remote Network Control feature is enabled, the viewer can operate the document camera and annotate on the video screen. Display the Setting dialog box. Use this to change the video resolution recording, capture setting and enable/disable hint display. Show/hide the Annotation control panel. Use these features to draw and overlay line and shape on the video screen. Display the Font dialog box. Use this to change font size, color, and style. After setting the font, click on the screen to type text. Select an area on the video screen to copy and paste it on an image editing software i.e. Microsoft Word or Paint. To select an area, click and drag a rectangular shape on the video screen. Show/hide the Eraser control panel. Use this to change eraser size or delete all. To erase, click-hold and point on the area you wish to delete. The name will be displayed on the video source list when the video sharing is started. This feature is available only when a document camera is connected to the computer thru USB connection. Set the video transfer size. The higher the video quality, the slower the video transfer. Enable/disable the viewer to operate the document camera and annotate on the video screen. Start/stop video sharing. Make sure the computer is connected to a local area network (LAN). Click this button repeatedly to change the selection. Change the internal color of line and shape to solid, 2 semi-transparent and transparent. Click this button repeatedly to change the selection. 3 Change the thickness of the line. 4 Select the outline and internal color of line and shape. 5 Switch to the next or previous set of color selections. 6 Erase all the annotation effects. Setting Dialog Box (2) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) Select the video recording resolution size to XGA (1024 1 x 768), SVGA (800 x 600) and VGA (640 x 480). Select Single to capture one still image only and Continuous to capture 2 successive still image depending on the set time and interval setting. Set the continuous capture 3 duration. Set the capture interval 4 between frames for continuous capture only. Set the saving location for 5 continuous capture only. Set the filename for 6 continuous capture only. 7 Enable/disable show hints when using the Select and Paste feature (see no.11 of Control Panel section). 8 Click OK to exit and save the setting and Cancel to exit without saving. Place the Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. Double click the CD icon when appears. (Note = version no. may be different with updated version). 2. Go to Mac folder. 5. Choose the target volume to install the AVerVision application then click Continue. 6. Click Install to start installing the program. 7. When the installation is completed, click Close. 8. You may now use the AVerVision document camera with the AVerVision application or use it as a USB camera. Using the AVerVision Application for Mac To run the application, in Finder menu bar, select Go and click Application. Then double-click AVerVision 2. Before running the AVerVision software, make sure the AVerVision document camera is connected to the computer USB port and turned ON. E-8

Using the AVerVision DocCam TWAIN To perform image capture using AVerVision DocCam TWAIN on software that supports acquiring image from devices such as scanner or camera: AVerVision software must be installed in the computer. (See the software and driver installation section for details.) Make sure AVerMedia Document Camera is connected to the computer thru USB connection. Run the software, open the File menu and select AVerVision DocCam TWAIN as the source of TWAIN device. Then, open the File menu again > import or acquire image > to execute the AVerVision DocCam TWAIN software.
