Compact I/O Modules It s a snap! Literally. Honeywell s innovative Compact I/O Modules use a simple link that joins modules without individual extra wiring. So you can link up to 15 modules without the time and hassle of extensive wiring. You only need to run power and network wires once. Honeywell Compact I/O Modules break the mold of requiring you to buy a module with more inputs/outputs than you need. Because Compact I/O Modules have a low number of I/Os, you won t be stuck paying for several unused I/Os. Add in the small profile that allows you to place a Compact I/O Module where other modules won t fit, and you ll see how Honeywell Compact I/O Modules save you time, hassles and money. With Compact I/O Modules, the communication capability is built-in. 2

The Most Extensive I/O Module Line Available Honeywell offers by far the most extensive I/O module line available. With Honeywell, you don t have to settle for only one or two choices. Honeywell has 14 I/O modules, encompassing three families, to fit all your application needs: Distributed I/O, Smart I/O, and the new Compact I/O. When you choose Honeywell, you know you ll have the perfect I/O module for any application, including modules that work with other automation system brands. Why You Need Honeywell s I/O Modules When you purchase a new controller for an HVAC system, it may not have enough inputs or outputs that you need. Instead of purchasing a second controller, Honeywell s family of I/O modules let you add the specific inputs/outputs that you want so you won t have to spend money on another expensive controller. I/O modules still require a controller to control them; they simply add the additional inputs/outputs where they are needed. I/O Modules Save Time And Money But the Honeywell difference goes beyond the superior selection. Honeywell I/O modules are designed to save you time and money by shortening the installation process. Plus, the new Compact I/O models eliminate wiring between modules altogether! Easily expandable and built for long service life, Honeywell I/O modules are the only brand you need for any I/O application. You may have a project where a sensor needs to be retrofitted on the outside of the building, but the controller with its inputs and outputs is located in a mechanical room in the basement. Although the building is already network wired, you must run new wire from the controller to the outdoor sensor, costing you time and money. Instead of laying new wire to connect the outdoor sensor to the controller in the basement, install an I/O module close to where you will install the outdoor sensor. Then connect the I/O module to the sensor. The I/O module utilizes the networked wiring to connect the sensor to the controller. Smart I/O Modules Honeywell Smart I/O Modules can be used in all open LonWorks environments. These versatile I/O modules have all four types of software-configurable digital and analog inputs and outputs in one convenient package so you don t have to buy more than one module, making them ideal for installation at strategic locations throughout your buildings. The modules convert physical input signals from sensors into network variables and the network variables into physical output signals for operating actuators. The diverse mix of inputs and outputs (flexibly configurable using Honeywell s LNS plug-ins) makes Smart I/O Modules ideally suited for a wide range of intelligent, distributed applications. Distributed I/O Modules Honeywell Distributed I/O Modules are LonMark compliant digital and analog I/O modules that convert sensor readings and provide output signals used for operating actuators via LonWorks standard network variables (SNVTs). Each Distributed I/O Module plugs into a base terminal block allowing communication with controllers via the LonWorks bus interface. The terminal block provides spring clamp terminals for easy connection of field cables from the various sensors and actuators. The modular system allows Distributed I/O Modules to be removed from the system without disturbing other modules. Unlike the Smart I/O modules, here you must choose a specific type of I/O; one module does not have all four types of I/O on it. 3
