Comparison of display sizes 1.5 display 2.0 display 2.5 display User benefits: Best view and best performance with an extra large display
Highest Pixel count for a compact camera Though compact, this camera employs the highest class of CCD with an effective number of 8.0 million pixel. Resolution Print size in cm 300dpi 27.64 x 20.37 150 dpi 55.27 x 41.45 The CCD is large in size (1/1.8 ) and even though the number of pixel increases over that of the previous X-models, the cells are not smaller in size, which minimizes noise generation.
The great advantage of this high resolution is the possibility of cropping images. Details can be selected and printed in full quality. Printable selection with 9 x 13cm paper at 300dpi Printable selection with 9 x 13cm paper at 150 dpi Image taken at the full resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixel User benefits: Large size printing Printing of details
New Designed Lens A new optical system was designed for the Dimage X1 to accomplish less than 20mm in thickness. Inheriting the flat zoom as a big feature of the X-series, the camera employs a folded optical system. The camera contains the Super Macro function for distances down to 5cm. It has a 3x optical zoom and uses a mechanical aperture.
New Anti-Shake System The camera s Anti-Shake feature differs from the CCD shift system of the A and Z series; it incorporates a new system that inclines the lens barrel. Just like the CCD shift system, the new system provides a shutter speed that can be up to 3 steps slower. During movie recording an electronic Anti-Shake is used.
Comparison between the Anti-Shake systems CCD shift system as employed in former cameras CCD shift system Moving part CCD Lens unit New Anti-Shake System Drive system Driven by two impact actuators Driven by two stepping motors Direction of movement Shifts along the X- and Y-axes using the Z-axis as the optical axis. Function of digital image stabilizer An electronic anti-shake feature corrects shaking by moving the image area read from the CCD according to the amount of shaking detected. Conceptual view of the anti-shake function Function of optical image stabilizer An optical element (glass plates or lenses) compensate the shaking. Example for an optical stabilizing system.
