Chatter The Chatter page contains information and tools that are specific to you. Posts that are directly connected to You and the Groups you ve joined. Executive Forum The Executive Forum is a special Chatter Feed that automatically follows Toyota executives. Status Updates or Posts to a Public Chatter Group by the listed Executives will be displayed in this consolidated feed. Inviting Toyota Employees to join ToyotaChatter 1 There are 2 ways you can invite a Toyota employee to join ToyotaChatter. Send an email to you colleague with the following link: www.toyotachatter.com OR: Sample email: Hello, ToyotaChatter is a global Social Enterprise application for collaborating and sharing information. It is a secure site open to Toyota employees only. ToyotaChatter runs on a platform provided by Salesforce.com. To register, please go to www.toyotachatter.com and click; Sign Up for New Account Fill in the registration information and click on Send. Your account will be added system and you ll receive an email from support@salesforce.com. Open the email and click on the link to set a new password. After you set your new password, you will be taken into ToyotaChatter. Moving forward, to access ToyotaChatter: Go to: www.toyotachatter.com Username: Your email address Password: The password you established From Chatter: Click on the Invite Co Workers tab. Enter the email address(es) of the people you wish to invite. Separate email addresses with a comma. Enter a brief message to personally invite your coworker. Click on Send when completed. 2 The invited co worker will receive a link to the following page. From this link, they will click on: Sign Up For a New Account 3 At the registration page. You ll be asked to enter your Name and Email address (required) Also, please enter your manager s name and email address. (Optional) 4 The person invited will receive an email from Salesforce. Search Global search searches more record types, including articles, documents, products, solutions, and Chatter feeds, files, groups, and people. Global search also searches more field types, including custom fields and long text fields such as descriptions, notes, and task and event comments. Global search keeps track of which objects you use and how often you use them, and arranges the search results accordingly. Search results for the objects you use most frequently appear at the top of the list. How your global search works depends on your search options, search terms, and the use of wildcards and operators. Tip: If you'd like to conduct a phrase search to match multiple terms in the exact sequence that they appear, select Exact phrase in the Options or use quotations marks around your search terms. Search Options let you restrict your search to the records you own, if available; and to exact phrase searches; The search options you select are saved until you change them. Search terms are treated as separate words and may be found in different searchable fields within a record. For example, searching for bob jones returns items with Bob Jones, as well as a contact named Bob Smith whose email address is bsmith@jones.com. Search terms are separated by letter, number, and punctuation boundaries. For example, searching for acct!4 returns items with Acct,!, and 4, even if those terms are in separate places in the item. Wildcards and Operators You can use the * (asterisk) and? (question mark) wildcards to refine results. Use * to match one or more characters, or? to match a single character. For example, searching for bob jo* finds items with Bob Jones and Bob Johnson, and searching for jo?n finds items with john and joan. Chat You can now have real-time chats with Global Toyota Chatter users through the feature called Chatter Messenger. (i.e. instant messaging) @Mention and #Topic Enhance your posting and everyone's searching: Use @mentions to notify coworkers that they need to see something Use the # symbol (hashtag) in front of a word to make it a running & searchable conversation For example: "Working with @Madison Doe on the new #Benefits fair." Simple guide on how to manage your Toyota Chatter email alerts 1 Go to your profile settings. Click on your name. 2 Select Setup 3 Go to My Chatter Settings and click on Chatter Email Settings 4 Check or uncheck the different boxes to establish your personal preferences of notification emails. 5 Click Save! How to upload a file and share it privately Q: There is a file that I wish to share privately with another toyotachatter.com user. Can I do this? A: The answer is YES, Chatter allows you to upload a file(s) (up to 2GB in size) and share the files with people and/or groups. Files shared privately in Chatter can only be viewed and downloaded by the people or groups you authorize. Files shared in groups can only be viewed and downloaded by everyone in the group. Here s the procedure to share a file privately. 1 Click on the Chatter tab. 2 Select Files 3 Click on the Upload Files button 4 Select the file you wish to upload. 5 6 7 Click Open and the file will be uploaded. The uploaded file is file is only seen by the user who uploaded it. To share the file, select Share Settings or Close. Toyota Chatter Introduction Overview 16
