1 Introduction AP-ENBD card(hereinafter referred to as ENBD)can provide PLC with Ethernet communication function. ENBD works in two modes: Server mode and Client mode. In sever mode, ENBD can receive requirement from other devices for TCP connection. The TCP connections can support with 8 channels at most. In Client mode, ENBD can send actively requirements to other devices for TCP connection and set up a channel connection. Once TCP connection has been set up, ENBD can process two-way data transmission. ENBD supports with variant protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP Modbus RTU over TCP and also supports data transmission with self-defined protocol in client mode. 1.1 Communication Structure Device 1 PLC ENBD Device TCP connection Device N Server Mode PLC ENBD Device TCP connection Client Mode As the first diagram shows device can use PLC programming software AP-PCLINK to write, read and monitor via Ethernet in sever mode. 1

1.2 Internal Principle PLC ENBD Devise Modbus RTU Modbus TCP/IP or Modbus RTU over TCP Without using the F80 RS application command, we use Modbus RTU, a kind of communication protocol, between PLC and ENBD. Essentially, ENBD is a protocol conversion modules which convert Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP/IP(or Modbus RTU over TCP). PLC ENBD Device Self-defined protocol Packing of the self-defined protocol While using application command F80 RS and sending self-defined data, ENBD just packet data sent by PLC into TCP data pack and send the data retrieved from TCP data pack to PLC. 2 Installation Firstly, power off the AP basic unit, remove the cover of the AP expansion card and plug in ENBD expansion card. There are four type connector ways between ENBD and device as the following description. Notes: There are two communication interfaces on AP-360BR/T-A/D basic module, only plugging in to the second slot AP-ENBD expansion card is effective. 2.1 Connect to the Same Router (or Switch ) Connect the ENBD card via the cable to the router or HUB, and then connect the device (or PC) to the LAN port on router or HUB. This connection way would automatically acquire IP address. 2

PC/Device Router/Switch LAN ENBD PLC 2.2 Direct Connection Connect ENBD card and Ethernet port on the device (or PC) with a cable directly. If there is no DHCP sever in device (or PC), ENBD would use a static IP instead. PC/Device ENBD PLC The static IP is 192.168.0.3 and the subnet number is 255.255.255.0 by default. 1) While connecting to PC without DHCP server software, we should set up the network card on the PC as below: Open control panel Network and sharing center, right-click the local area connection, choose properties. Pop up the dialogue box as below. 3

Choose Internet Protocol(TCP/IP),Click properties. Local IP address set up 192.168.0.XXX (XXX is the value range from 1 to 254), and it should be different with IP address on ENBD. The subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0. Click OK and the network configuration on PC is complete. 2) When other devices are connected, this device IP address to 192.168.0.XXX, the subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0. The IP setting method please refer to the device's manual. 3) If ENBD already configured, There is a fixed IP address different to the default, you can refer Chapter 6.2 section restore to factory settings, and then press the steps above to set. 2.3 Connected to the Same Subnet ENBD card connects to local area network via cable. The device (or PC) also connects to the same local area network via internet, WIFI and fiber optic internet. Under normal circumstances ENBD will automatically obtain an IP address. The IP address distributed to ENBD card should be the same subnet with device. Otherwise, AP-PCLINK can t look for the ENBD cards. Local area connection PC/Device ENBD PLC 4

2.4 Connected to the Different Subnet While device (or PC) and ENBD card are in different subnet but the same local area network Just correct the route between two of subnet, and the device (or PC) will connect to ENBD Subnet 1 Subnet 2 PC/Device ENBD PLC 2.5 Indicator Description Status Green Indicator Orange Indicator On None of data is transmission. Linked up with 100M Ethernet Blink Data is transmission Off Network is not connected. 1) Linked up with 10M Ethernet 2) Network is not connected. 3 Quick-start Guide The following will show in the PLC programming software, the process PLC program written by ENBD. The ENBD connected to the same local area network through the network cable and PLC programming software installed on your computer connected to the same router, directly connected or connected to the same subnet Switch on power, wait about 20s, in order to ensure complete ENBD start and get the IP address. Run AP PCLINK programming software, click on the "Open link dialog" button. 5

Pop-up the Link box, Select the TCPIP Port, PLC programming software will begin to search for the LAN ENBD, will show ENBD's MAC(Media Access Control)address and IP address is found. Find the ENBD s MAC address in figure 1 indicated, If there is more than one LAN you can select other ENBD on the right triangle indicate, to select ENBD to be connected; The 2 indicated the IP address of ENBD; the communication format set in the 3 indicated for the serial communication; when use ENBD communication if it does not work, Please keep the default value. Click on the "Link" button, under normal circumstances would show a successful connection, as follows: Then you can use as PG communication interfaces, the PLC program to write, read, and monitoring. Open an AP PLC program, and then click on the Write button 6

After the write is completed successfully written is displayed. Click on the "Monitor" button to display the monitor screen As described above, the PLC program written by ENBD and monitor the work is done 4 Settings 4.1 Enter into Settings Pages Run AP PCLINK programming software, click the " Link " button in the dialog box "Port" select TCPIP. 7

AP PCLINK programming software will search LAN s ENBD station, When find the ENBD then MAC address will be displayed on the graph 1 position. If the LAN has more than one ENBD, click on the right triangle, select the ENBD that want to connect. Then the corresponding IP address will appear on the graph 2 position. Open a browser, IP address in the browser address bar enter step to obtain, for example: 192.168.0.3. Enter the ENBD settings page Fill in the Username and Password column, the default user name: admin. default password: admin. Click the Login button to enter the basic settings page. 8

4.2 Basic Settings Basic Settings page as follows: Note: Setting this page to click "Apply" button to make the new settings are written to ENBD, then MUST click on the "Reboot" button to restart ENBD module, then new settings to take effect 4.2.1 Serial Settings 9

Serial setting here is communication between ENBD and PLC's serial port settings. PLC ENBD Device Serial interface EtherNet In most cases, you can ignore these settings leave it at the default values. However, depending on the rate of a communications channel that part of the slowest in the communication rate, If requirements the fast communication rate, through appropriate adjustments to improve overall communication speed Data bits (Data Bits), parity (Data Parity), stop bit (Stop Bits) The default values are 8, None, 2, If you need to change these settings, be check the PLC program make both consistent. Flow Control and RS485 and not used in the current firmware, keep the default values. ENBD and PLC communication baud rate default is 19200bps. When set to Server mode (the default mode), each restart ENBD will automatically detect the PLC communication baud rate, and will own the same baud rate setting to the PLC. So if you want to change in the Server mode and PLC communication between ENBD baud rates. This need change the PLC program and power off & on again. When set to Client mode, ENBD not automatically conduct PLC communication baud rate detection. At this point if you want to change the baud rate, make sure that the same baud rate at PLC program and ENBD set. PLC program with ENBD communication baud rate settings please refer to PLC "instruction manual" Communication Function section to set communication parameters and ENBD PLC communication format is 307200bps, 8 data bits, no parity, 2 stop bits: 10

4.2.2 Network Address Setting DHCP Client function is used to automatically configure ENBD IP address, Subnet Mask, default gateway and DNS server addresses. The DHCP Client default setting is Enable. If you want to use the DHCP function, LAN also need to have a DHCP server, as well as routers, DHCP server software is installed computers. If DHCP to obtain network address failed, ENBD will adopt the default setting include the Static IP Address, Static Subnet Mask, Static Default Gateway and Static DNS Server. If the LAN ENBD where there is no DHCP server, or if you want to keep a Static IP address ENBD, set DHCP Client is set to Disable, and the Static IP Address, Static Subnet Mask, Static Default Gateway and Static DNS Server should set to the correct value. Specific settings, please consult your company's network administrator. When you enable the DHCP function can also ENBD module fixed IP address, this time need in the DHCP server (such as: routers) will ENBD's MAC address and IP address binding. Only Static DNS Server in the Client Destination Host Name / IP is set to the URL or use the E-mail function is required, in other cases use the default values. 4.2.3 TCP Communication Basic settings The Connection Type represents ENBD and other equipment to establish the type of connection. There are two connection types the TCP and UDP, but currently ENBD only supports TCP type, Please setting keep the default value: TCP. The Transmit Timer indicates the minimum time to send out a packet interval in 10 3 S ( ms base). If the speed of your device for processing data is relatively slow, you can increase the setting. 4.2.4 Server and Client Settings The Server / Client Mode setting ENBD work in Server mode or Client mode. 11

In the Server mode ENBD may accept other device initiates a TCP connection request. This mode is used when the other device sends commands (such as: read the value of the PLC D0) to ENBD, then sent back to the PLC via ENBD response (such as: the return value of D0). In the Server mode ENBD can accept up to 8 TCP connections. For example eight devices simultaneously sends ENBD command, each device establish a TCP connection; or N sets of equipment, the total number of connections to ENBD built 8. The Server Listen Port as ENBD in Server mode listening port number, ENBD will receive connections from other devices on this port number. When Server Listen Port is set to 502, ENBD send and receive data using the Ethernet Modbus TCP / IP protocol format. And when Server Listen Port set the values is from 400 to 65535, ENBD to Ethernet transceiver data using Modbus RTU over TCP protocol format. Under Client mode ENBD initiate TCP connection request to the other devices. This mode is used to send commands to other devices via Modbus PLC program, other devices via Ethernet Modbus response are returned. PLC program to other devices or send custom commands, other equipment is returned in response to a custom command. The Client Destination Host Name / IP is the address in the Client mode the device you want to connect. Here you can fill in the device's IP address. you can fill in the URL of the device. If you fill in the URL of the device, make sure that the address obtained by DHCP or Static DNS Server DNS Server settings are correct, and ensure that the DNS Server can query the IP address of the device. The Client Destination Port is the port number of the device you want to connect. This port number is set to 502, the data is sent from the PLC over Modbus RTU format should be, should not be the custom format. ENBD send data to the Ethernet Modbus TCP / IP format data sent via Ethernet to ENBD should be Modbus TCP / IP format. When the port number is set to the other values of 400 to 65535, ENBD data received from the PLC to the data portion of the TCP package sent to Ethernet, then the two-way data can be a custom format. 4.2.5 Device Name The Device name is used by ENBD set a MAC address with respect to the name easy to remember, such as motor1, used to distinguish the same LAN different ENBD. The Device name You can set up to 15 English symbols. The names can t contain "+" If set to Chinese name, it can accommodate up to five characters. 4.2.6 Function buttons Click the Apply button to save the settings change to ENBD, but does not take effect immediately. 12
