In additin t n-demand vide, Kaltura allws yu t engage emplyees by streaming live events directly within SharePint. All f the elements within the Kaltura Extensin fr SharePint 2013 are standard SharePint elements that can be deplyed, mnitred, islated and uninstalled by SharePint. Fr example, it is pssible t deply the elements int a dedicated web applicatin that will islate all the slutin artefacts frm ther SharePint slutins. It is als pssible t apply the features nly t a specific site cllectin. The fllwing lists the SharePint elements that the Kaltura Vide Extensin fr SharePint 2013 includes: DLLs - Three DLLs are deplyed t the (Glbal Assembly Cache) GAC, all f which start with the wrd "Kaltura" and can be easily identified. Farm Feature - A single farm feature that adds a Secure Stre Applicatin and a Business Data Cnnectivity Mdel. Site cllectin feature - A site cllectin level feature that deplys web parts. Design elements- standard SharePint design manager package and search cnfiguratin file which are manually upladed per site cllectin. Right click n the item SharePint 2013 Management Shell and chse Run as administratr. As a result, the PwerShell windw pens as displayed. NOTE: Running the PwerShell shell as administratr is required nly if yu have User Access Cntrl (UAC) activated within Windws. If UAC is disabled then yu may pen the PwerShell shell by clicking n the SharePint 2013 Management Shell item. Within the PwerShell cnsle, type the fllwing cmmand: Add-SPSlutin '{Path T the WSP file}\kalturaslutin.wsp' Replace {Path T the WSP file} with the lcatin where yu saved the WSP file. Step 4 - Activate the Kaltura Farm Feature Targeted fr: SharePint administratrs Descriptin: Activate the farm feature Kaltura Backbne in the Farm Features screen. This feature sets the applicatin backbne: that include the search cnnectr and cnfiguratin items that are needed fr varius cmpnents in the slutin. T activate the Kaltura Farm Feature Brwse t SharePint s Farm Features windw. Navigate t SharePint Central Administratin, select System Settings, then select Manage Farm Features. Step 5 - (Optinal) - Cnfigure the Applicatin Settings in SharePint s Secure Stre Service Targeted fr: SharePint administratrs Optinal: This step shuld be perfrmed nly if the installatin package was nt dwnladed frm the KAF admin. If yu dwnlad the slutin file frm the KAF admin, this step is autmatically implemented by the package. Descriptin: Cnfigure the credentials and ther settings that create the cnnectin between SharePint and KAF. These settings are kept securely in the SharePint Secure Stre Service. T cnfigure the app settings in SharePint s Secure Stre Service Brwse t SharePint Secure Stre Service. Navigate t SharePint Central Administratin and select Manage Service Applicatins and then select Secure Stre Service (r the name the Secure Stre Service was assigned during installatin). Set the applicatin credentials. Yu shuld see the Secure Stre applicatin named KalturaStre. Click n KalturaStre and chse Set Credentials frm the drp dwn menu. NOTE: Even if the credentials (Secure Stre cnfiguratin inf) were previusly filled, they appear as empty because SharePint hides this infrmatin due t security reasns. The secret can be btained frm yur KMC, under Settings > Integratin Settings. Server URL If a value is nt specified it will default t https://www.kaltura.cm Partner ID Yur Kaltura Partner ID. The partner ID can be btained frm yur KMC, under Settings > Integratin Settings. Rt categry The name f the media categry within KAF. By default the rt categry is sharepint. KAF URL The Kaltura Applicatin Framewrk launch pint. Yu can btain this value frm yur Kaltura representative. If a value is nt specified it will default t https://{kaltura.partner.id}.kaf.kaltura.cm. This infrmatin is fund in the KMC under settings/custm data/system name = CategryAdditinalInf. KS UserId field sets the value f the SPUser bject that the Kaltura slutin will use. There are 2 ptins t chse frm lginname r email. Enter either ne f these wrds in this field. If yu want users lgging-in t yur SharePint slutin t have the same My Media when they lg-in t anther Kaltura Applicatin (MediaSpace fr example), the user name lgin methd shuld be the same in bth slutins. Fr example: lginname JhnDe email Email address : JhnDe@cmpany.cm r fr users using KMS, yu culd chse "email" in SP, and email in the value frm the ADFS SAML respnse. Use user Dmain Use t determine whether the dmain will be remved frm the userlginname r nt. (Fr example either: dmain\jhnde r just jhnde). Valid parameters in this field are yes, n, true, r false. Step 6 - Cnfigure the Search Crawler (Cnnectr) Targeted fr: SharePint administratrs, Search administratrs Descriptin: Within the SharePint search service, define a new result surce and new result type t enable Kaltura media t result within the SharePint search results. T cnfigure the search crawler Authrize the search service t apprach Kaltura media items: Navigate t Business Cnnectivity Services (BCS) - Brwse t SharePint Central Administratin and select Manage Service Applicatins then select Business Data Cnnectivity (r any ther name the business cnnectivity services was assigned during installatin). Ensure that the item KalturaEntity exists n the list. Assign the search service permissins t query using this Business Data Cnnectivity item. a. Select the item KalturaEntity, n the tp ribbn and click Set Object Permissins. b. Add the Farm Accunt which is used fr crawling external data (The Farm Accunt was chsen during the farm installatin. If yu are nt sure hw t identify the Farm Accunt, please refer t the Micrsft article Plan fr administrative and service accunts in SharePint 2013 ), then check the fllwing Permissins check-bxes: Edit, Execute, and Set Permissins. Search Schema Installer.ps1 which yu dwnladed in step 1. c. Right click n the file and chse Run with PwerShell. A cnsle windw is displayed. d. Create the search schema and display the success message. If an errr message appears n the screen, dismiss it, it shuld nt affect the prcess. Add a new cntent surce. Navigate t Search Service Applicatin- Brwse t SharePint Central Administratin and select Manage Service Applicatins and then select Search Service Applicatin (r any ther name the search service was assigned during installatin). Step 7 - Activate the UI Feature in One r Mre Site Cllectins Targeted fr: SharePint administratrs, Site wners, Site designers Descriptin: Activate Kaltura features within site cllectins where yu plan t use Kaltura widgets r perfrm a Kaltura search. This is a cmmn SharePint actin which is regularly dne in SharePint sites t add new functinality. Enter the Site cllectin settings screen, then chse Site Cllectin Features. Activate the widgets feature. T use Kaltura Widgets web parts (Media Gallery, My Media and Brwse Search and Embed) in the site cllectin, activate the feature Kaltura Widgets by selecting the feature and clicking Active. T cnfigure the media search within SharePint Lgin t the site cllectin where yu want t custmize the search result as a site cllectin administratr NOTE: SharePint will fail t imprt the search cnfiguratin if yu are lgged-in with the farm admin r applicatin pl user accunt. Please ensure that the user wh is lgged-in is a site cllectin administratr and des nt have higher privileges. Enter the site settings screen by clicking n the gear icn (appears n the tp crner f the site) and then chse Site Settings. Activate the related SharePint features. a. Within the site settings page, navigate t Site Cllectin Features and activate the feature SharePint Server Publishing Infrastructure. b. Within the site settings page, navigate t Manage Site Features and activate the fllwing features: Search Cnfig Data Cntent Types and Search Cnfig List Instance Feature. Uplad the search UI design files t SharePint Design Manager : Within the site settings page, navigate t Design Manager. Within the Design Manager hme screen, chse Imprt a cmplete design package. a. Brwse and lcate the file Kaltura SharePint Slutin - Design Artifacts.wsp that yu dwnladed with all the ther installatin files. b. Cnfirm t uplad the file. c. Verify that a successful cnfirmatin message appears n the screen: Imprt f package "Kaltura SharePint Slutin - Design Artifacts.wsp" succeeded. Imprt the search cnfiguratin file. a. Navigate t Imprt Cnfiguratin. The link appears under the menu Site Cllectin Settings. b. Uplad the file Kaltura SharePint Slutin - Search UI Cnfiguratin.xml using the file Uplad buttn that appears in the screen and then cnfirm by clicking Imprt. The clumn Status shuld display the value Imprted successfully. T test the new search cnfiguratin, perfrm a search in the same site cllectin t which yu upladed the cnfiguratin file. Type a phrase that matches sme media items that were upladed t the Media Gallery. Yu may als put yur muse cursr ver sme media item, and hver panel with media thumbnail shuld ppup. NOTE: The user wh perfrms a search must have read permissins in the site cllectin rt site. This requirement hlds true fr every SharePint slutin that makes use f master pages and design files. Examples f Search Experience and Applicatins By nw yu have cnfigured the SharePint search server t index Kaltura media items. This sectin describes hw t expse the search cntent t the user. The SharePint search is a rich platfrm that includes many cmpnents and ptential applicatins. Yu may design yur wn search slutins using SharePint tls. The fllwing examples d nt teach yu hw t craft search applicatins but prvides a few ppular examples f hw yu may expse media items using the SharePint search UI with links t Micrsft s dcumentatin. Embed Kaltura Cntent within any Site Search Every SharePint site template cmes with a search bx that allws yu t search within the lcal site cntent. By default, nly cntent f the current site is displayed. Cnsequently, Kaltura media items will nt appear in the search result. Hwever, using the SharePint search cnfiguratin, yu may display Kaltura cntent alng the lcal site cntent. This can be technically achieved by creating a new search result page (r search result center), cnfiguring it t display items frm the lcal SharePint cntent and Kaltura media items and then changing the site settings t refer all searches t the new page. Fr mre infrmatin, please refer t the Micrsft article Specify search settings fr a site cllectin r a site. Leverage Kaltura Cntent in an Enterprise Search Center Search centers are SharePint sites that are designed fr rich search experience. If yu already have a search center, Kaltura media items will be displayed within the search results. Yu may imprve the user experience by prviding a Kaltura Vertical. This is a tab within the search result that will narrw the search cntent t display Kaltura media items nly. Using this tl yu can fcus n media items nly in yur search. Fr mre infrmatin see Micrsft s dcumentatin n Hw t add a custm search vertical t yur search results page in SharePint 2013. Creating a Custm Search Driven Applicatin Micrsft has cined the term Search Driven Applicatin t describe the richness and flexibility f the search platfrm. Using the varius search tls, yu my craft a custm search slutin, fr example: Shw all the rganizatinal media n a tpic. Based n sme user interactin (fr example, selecting a tpic frm a list), display all the related rganizatin media, Kaltura items and lcal media mixed tgether, using the search result web part. Yu may apply similar frmatting t all the media items regardless f their type, grup imprtant items and mre. Shw recmmended cntent within yur team sites. Yu may add a widget within yur team site that displays new, updated and recmmended cntent fr the team s they can explre and reveal cntent f interest regarding a specific tpic r in general. T achieve this functinality, yu may use the built-in web parts: Recmmended Items and Ppular Items Web Part. Display related media within yur catalg prduct page. SharePint 2013 cntains special treatment fr catalg items (crss-rganizatinal entities like prducts). The prduct page usually displays varius infrmatin abut the prduct, using the search result web part in a prduct page. It is pssible t display all the cntent which is related t this prduct, lcal cntent and Kaltura media mixed tgether in a list. Step 9 - Assign Permissins t Users Kaltura Vide Extensin fr SharePint 2013 Deplyment Guide fr On-Premise 21

This step enables yu t use SharePint built-in security grups and permissins t set what the user is allwed t see and d. Similar t any ther cntent slutin in SharePint, users must be added t site grups that have sme assciated permissin level. If yur site users are already added t the built-in SharePint grups n ther actins are required. Kaltura widgets take int accunt the SharePint user permissins and authrize users accrdingly. By default, withut changing the SharePint ut-f-the-bx permissin s settings and Kaltura Applicatin Framewrk settings, the fllwing security principles are applied: Users that are part f the Site Name Members grup are assigned the Kaltura Cntributr cntextual rle. Users that are part f the Site Name Visitrs grup are assigned the Kaltura Member cntextual rle. Users that are part f the Site Name Owners grup are assigned the Kaltura Manager cntextual rle. T assign permissins t users Add users t grups in SharePint. Change the default SharePint-KAF permissin mapping. Typically, yu d nt need t change the default permissin settings t satisfy yur security requirements. Hwever, fr sme cmplex scenaris, yu may want t granularly set, fr example, which permissin (fr example, rle) in SharePint is mapped t which KAF (Kaltura Applicatin Framewrk) rle. Shuld yu want t achieve that level f cntrl, it is pssible t d s via the KAF admin cnsle, under the SharePint tab.
