Harmonizing Digital Markets of EU and EaP Countries Initiative Background 7 th of Nov, 2013, Vilnius. Shaping EU Digital Market event session Harmonizing of EU Digital market with Eastern Neighbours event was held in Vilnius with participation of delegations from all EaP countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. HDM initiative was proposed by INFOPARK delegation.
What does Harmonisation mean? Almost half of EU economic productivity is driven by IT. Creation of the real Digital Single Market would mean for Europe grow of 4% GDP and 415 bln Eur for EU economy. Harmonisation of the national Digital Markets (HDM) is the vital process of their convergence/integration by eliminating regulatory barriers, overcoming technological obstacles and aligning the digitization levels of European regions for creation of the pan- European Digital Single Market.
