Westpac Prepaid cards a card for every purpose Depending on what you have in mind, we could have a card to suit. Sending money overseas Westpac Express is a greatvalue way to send money to a family member or friend overseas, with competitive exchange rates and low fees, and all the security of the Visa network. Everyday use if you d like all the convenience of a credit card, but don t want the debt, a Westpac Prepaid card could be the answer. It allows you to buy online, over the phone and around the world. It s also a good way to help you control your budget, because you can only spend the amount you have loaded onto the card. You can use your card for just about anything you like buy music online, order stuff over the internet, and of course you can use it for Eftpos and ATM transactions here in NZ. More about Westpac Prepaid cards you are required to produce identification when you purchase a card you can reload the cards by depositing more money onto them you will receive statements so you have a record of your transactions (if you make no transactions during a statement period you won t receive a statement) you can also view your account balance and transactions online there are great security features if you lose your card it can be replaced for a fee all the cards are valid for up to 4 years. 4

Westpac Express a great way to send money overseas Westpac Express is very simple to use. You receive two cards one you keep here in New Zealand to load or deposit money onto, and the other card is sent to a nominated family member or friend overseas to access the money. With competitive exchange rates and low fees, you can load money onto the card through in-branch deposits, online banking or phone banking. Once you have loaded money onto the card it will usually be accessible the next day for the person with the other card to withdraw. Or they can use the card to buy things wherever Visa is accepted. The best place to withdraw cash is from Westpac, or Global Alliance ATMs, as fees may be charged when another bank s ATM is used. With Westpac Express you receive two cards a New Zealand card for you to keep here in NZ to make deposits on to the card, and an International card to send overseas to your nominated cardholder to use for transactions overseas you will need to produce identification when you purchase a card you will need to provide the name and address of the person you are sending the card to, who must be a resident in another country the International card PIN (personal identification number) will be mailed by Westpac to the person you have named at the address you have provided. The named person will need to know the PIN to access money from ATMs the maximum balance of the card must not exceed $9,999.99. In any consecutive 12 month period, the combined total value of the transactions involving payments must not exceed $9,999.99 you can only have one Westpac Express card in any 12 month period and only choose one person as the named family member or friend to receive and use the other card you will need to ask Westpac to activate the International card once you know the nominated cardholder has received the card and PIN. 7
ATM Global Alliance Get your cash from an ATM belonging to one of the ATM Global Alliance banks, and you ll pay no international transaction fee* saving you up to NZ $3 every time. Westpac is the only bank in New Zealand to give you this saving. Just look for an ATM belonging to one of these ATM Global Alliance banks in their respective countries. ATMs are also located in Fiji, Vanuatu, the Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. United States of America More than 16,000 ATMs throughout the USA. England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland More than 3,000 ATMs throughout the United Kingdom, and 200 throughout Africa (Barclays South Africa not included). Canada, Caribbean, Chile and Mexico More than 2,700 machines across Canada, 350 ATMs across the Caribbean, 115 ATMs in Chile and over 1,000 ATMs throughout Mexico. France More than 3,000 ATMs throughout France. Europe More than 2,300 ATMs throughout Germany, Poland, Spain and Italy. Westpac Prepaid Westpac Prepaid the freedom to buy online, over the phone and around the world WESTPAC PREPAID 4000 1234 5678 9010 MONTH/YEAR VALID THRU 12/12 PREPAID Westpac Prepaid gives you all the convenience of a credit card, but without the debt. This means you can buy things over the internet, over the phone and around the world using the money loaded onto your card. A Prepaid card can also help you manage your budget, as the amount you can spend is limited by the amount you decide to load onto your card. It s a great way to help you control your spending. You can load money on to your card at any time using online or phone banking, ATMs or even in-branch deposits. With Westpac Prepaid you can buy online or over the phone you set money aside for a specific purpose, which helps to manage your budget load money on to your card easily with phone, online, ATM or in branch deposits. If you would prefer to use money directly from your everyday account ask us about a Debit Mastercard. 9
Applying for a card You need to be a NZ Resident or have a valid Work Permit or Student Visa to apply for Westpac Prepaid cards. Applying for a card is very easy, simply visit any Westpac branch and bring Identification If you re 18 or older you must bring verification of identity. Please refer to Westpac s list of acceptable documentation available at www.westpac.co.nz/aml. For Westpac Express you will also need to bring the name and address of the person you intend to send the International card to. If you re between the ages of 13 to 17, in addition to the above you ll need a parent or guardian to sign your application form as well. Address Details You ll need to bring in proof of your own address. Please refer to Westpac s list of acceptable documentation available at www.westpac.co.nz/aml. If you re applying for an Express card, we ll need the full name and address of the person you intend to send the International card to. First Deposit There is a minimum deposit (load) of $50.00. 10
How your card works Westpac Prepaid cards are easy to use. You simply purchase a card and deposit the amount of money you want onto the card. You then have up to three years to spend the money. At any time you can top up your card with additional funds using online or phone banking, ATMs or even in branch deposits. You can use the card online or overseas, anywhere in the world that Visa is accepted. If you have a Westpac Prepaid card, you can also use your card at ATMs or merchants in NZ. When using the card at NZ merchants you need to select the Credit button. Safety with Westpac Prepaid Cards. If your card is lost or stolen the maximum is $50.00. You will not be held responsible for any unauthorised transactions once you advise Westpac that your card has been lost or stolen, provided you have not acted fraudulently, negligently and have abided by the Prepaid Cards terms and conditions. 11
