Thailand Competitiveness Conference 2017 Reinforcing the Foundation for Competitiveness Since 1997, Thailand Management Association (TMA) has been the partner institute of the World Competitiveness Center (WCC) at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Switzerland, for IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook. Upon realizing the importance of competitiveness to the development of the country, TMA in 2009 initiated Thailand Competitiveness Enhancement Program with the prime objective to identify strategic framework and actions that would help move the country forward in a more competitive manner. The Royal Thai Government has exerted much effort recently to improve Thailand s competitiveness through various means, among which the National Competitiveness Committee. The effort has obviously helped raise awareness on the importance of being competitive and its implications to the economy as well as to the people s well-being. The public and private sectors are thus prepared to take part in this endeavor to promote national competitiveness for the betterment of Thailand. Essentially, Thailand Competitiveness Conference is an annual event that convenes experts from both public and private sectors to share knowledge and opinions as well as to give advice on the key success factors to enhance Thailand s competitiveness. This year, Thailand Competitiveness Conference 2017, titled Reinforcing the Foundation for Competitiveness, will highlight public-private collaboration that enables implementation of national competitiveness strategies via the sharing of best practices and knowledge from all over the world. Objectives 1. To create understanding regarding key success factors and the alignment of national vision and strategies with different stakeholders for national competitiveness enhancement 2.
