Must Read Documents for App Development Apps developed for the purpose of being sold through LG Smart TV must abide by the guidelines set out by LG Electronics, especially those outlines in the two documents stated below. (Documents below can be download at LG Developer > Resource Center > Documentation > References ) UI Guideline (lg smart tv and media product ui guideline.pdf) - This document outlines the App UI guidelines of LG Smart TV and Media. App developed without abiding by these guidelines can be rejected in an App QA. 6

Required Documents for App Submission To process your Application QA without delay, make sure to submit the App Description (providing an overview of the App) and the Self Evaluation Checklist (Results of self-performed tests of the App) when submitting the App to the Seller Lounge. Please note that invalid documents or documents with ins ufficient information can be grounds for rejection in an Application QA. App Description (app description.ppt) - The App UI or GUI document provided by the Seller 9

Self-Evaluation Checklist (app_self_evaluation_checklist.xls) - A document containing results of self-tests of the App performed by the Seller before App submission to the Seller Lounge For the above two documents, you may download and use templates from the LG Developer website. Other document formats (ppt, pdf, doc, xls, etc) containing equivalent information are accepted as replacements. 10

Submitting Test Account Information Apps that require activation codes or signing in in order to access content within must submit test codes or test account information (ID/Password) to the App QA Team, so the App can be tested. If such required testing information is not provided and performing the QA is not possible, the App will be rejected. All required App testing information should be included in the App Description document (Refer to the 3. Required Documents for App Submission section of this document.) App Sample: A Code Requiring App Include Code related information in the App Description document - Test codes and code inputting instructions if needed - Submit at least 3 codes for testing purposes App Sample: An ID & Password Requiring App Include test account related information in the App Description document. - Information on test IDs, password, balance, etc. - Submit at least 3 test account information 16

QA Requirements for Apps with Geo-IP Blocking Features If an App is developed to block specific IPs such as using a Geo-Blocking feature, you must have this block removed for the range of IPs required by the QA team for testing, BEFORE the QA begins. (* Geo-IP Blocking : Blocking of IP Addresses of Countries) - Failure to notify the QA Team of Geo-Blocks or any other built in blocks that prevent app execution or accessing of the App s content prior to QA testing will be grounds for rejection. - Following Seller Lounge registration and submission of an App, Sellers should notify the QA Team of the App s IP block via the Seller Lounge 1:1 Inquiry as well as whitelist the range of IPs required for testing to proceed with QA testing normally. Effectively Communicating Updated App Info During Re-Verification Between the Seller and QA Team If you have re-submitted your previously rejected App for another QA, you can leave comments for the QA Team as shown below. To forward longer or more detailed information regarding the App, please write up Release Notes and submit it to the QA Team as shown below. Communicating Simple Comments - When submitting an App for Re-Verification, Sellers can submit any information regarding the App and/or updates as comments (in English) on the Seller Lounge Where to Submit Comments: Seller Lounge > App Management >App Submission Status Select App Edit Page Step4 (Submit) Comment Field Communicating Detailed Information and/or Sending Attachments - Based on the QA Defect Report you received via E-mail, you can write up a Release Notes document and upload it by way of: Where to Upload Release Notes: Seller Lounge> App Submission > Step2. App Upload Click the Browse button of the Related Papers section * Same as the Related Papers location during App submission - Write a comment in the comment field indicating you have uploaded a Release Notes document in the Relate Papers section (Refer to Comment image above) * Refer to the How to Write Release Notes section next page 20

Between the Seller and QA Team You can write up Release Notes based on the QA Defect Report sent to you when the App was previously rejected, by adding comments regarding modifications made on the App being submitted. When submitting a re-verification request including Release Notes can be helpful in speeding up the QA process. How to Write Release Notes Enter details regarding modifications and issues in the Seller / Developer Comment section 1 When an App is rejected during the QA process, the system notifies the Seller by E-mail with the QA Defect Report attached. 2 Sellers (Developers) resolve issues stated in the QA Defect Report and submit the App again for re-verification. 3 If necessary, modified Apps can be accompanied by detail comments regarding modifications and issues, by editing the Defect Report received following the instructions below: 1) Save the file under a new name by changing it from QA Defect Report to Release Notes 2) In the newly named Release Notes file, add a column titled Seller/Developer Comments to the right of Details 3) Enter App modification and issue related comments in the Seller/Developer Co mments column. 4 Upload document by going to Seller Lounge > App Management > App Submission Status > Related Paper 5 Go to the Seller Lounge > Step 4(Submit) > In the Comment field enter Related Paper Document submission complete 21
