Foreword From ideas to implementation This document highlights the capabilities of the 2N Helios range of IP intercoms. It is 2Ns intention is to provide you with a useful advantage in a competitive market. They want to give you the means to speed up your work, to find new areas with added value for your business and for you to find the greatest utility for the customer. 2N have carried out extensive global customer research asking about their needs and wishes. How they use the existing equipment, what they appreciate and what they feel is missing and what annoys them. From this the development team have created a range of products based on internet technologies intended for residential buildings, shopping centres, public spaces, motorways, hospitals and large office complexes. When you are ready to select products for your project please be aware that some functionality is not available on all models. It is advisable that careful model selection is carried out prior to purchase. Some functionality requires additional module boards fitted and again these may only be available for certain models and other functions will require additional (one time cost) licenses to enable the features mentioned. Licensing All models use a variation of the same basic firmware. Features do depend on installed hardware and license. Licenses are a One Time cost there are no recurring charges. Licenses are not available for 2N Helios Uni. Which intercom models do support licensing? 2N Helios IP Verso, Vario, Force, Safety and Video Kit do support this licensing scheme in full. o User only need to observe which licences really make sense for them for example an Enhanced Video licence for intercom without camera does not help much. The 2N Helios IP Vario with display already comes with preloaded Gold licence, so the only possible upgrades are G.729 and InformaCast. 2N Helios IP Uni does not support licensed features at all. 2N Helios IP Audio Kit does support all licences except for G.729. What other products do follow this scheme? 2N SIP Speaker, which already comes with preloaded Gold licence, so the only possible upgrades are G.729 and InformaCast. How do I get the licence? Licences are generated by 2N according to particular serial number. After you decide which licence you want, you need to get serial number of your unit and contact your distributor who will get the licence key for you. Wiegand Isolator. 2N Helios IP External Accessories 2N 2Wire IP network anywhere from now on Converter allows you to use existing wiring (2 wires / Coax) from your original door bell or door intercom to connect any IP device. You only need one 2N 2Wire unit at each end of the cable and a power source connected to at least one of these units. The 2N 2Wire unit then provides PoE power not only to the second converter, but also to all other connected IP end devices. Think in terms of ADSL over two wires or coax. Each household can then answer a call from the intercom using their existing telecomunications providor. If the household telecoms providor can support video over SIP then the dwelling owner can also see who is calling. The internet connection allows the installer to maintain and upgrade the intercom remotely. The video from the camera can be made secuely avaialble on the Internet. Vehicle Entry: System detects if the vehicle that has approached is a truck or passenger vehicle. Accordingly the upper or lower intercom is activated and initiates a call to the reception without the visitor having to initiate the call by button press. Internal timing sequences prevent the system from being retiggered by a truck and trailer combination where the trailer may appear to be a second vehicle following the initiating vehicle. Remote Emergency Call Point: IP Intercom connected to a GSM or UMTS cellular network enables remote call points in locations where there are no Wired telecomunications support. Simple Examples of Automation Silent Alarm: Special code number opens the door, but covertly informs the security. For cases of forced door opening. Loud alarm might scare the attacker which could lead to violence. Silent alarm opens the door, but sends a HTTP message and / or email with picture to security department. Programmed using Automation. Group control: Special code or card entered at one of the itercoms can trigger predefined reaction on a group of intercoms. When evacuating a building, swiping a dedicated card can open all the doors in the building at the same time. Special code entered on keypad can trigger prerecorded audio message from all intercom.
