Guide to Using the AK240 MQS Streaming Server Windows 7/8 (32&64bit) Installing & Running the MQS Streaming Server: The AK240 can access music files stored on computer on the same network. 1. Download the MQS Streaming Server for Windows 7&8 here: http://tinyurl.com/mxhl7mj 2. After downloading, open and unzip the MQS Streaming Server by decompressing the.zip file. 3. Extract the ZIP file to your computer and run Setup.exe 1

4. Upon startup of setup.exe, the install wizard will appear. Click [Next >] to proceed. 3
5. Select where the MQS Streaming Server should install in your computer, click [Next >], and confirm when you are ready to proceed. 4
6. Click Close when the installation of the MQS Streaming Server has completed installing. 5
7. Upon launching the MQS Streaming Server for the first time, you will see the update firmware screen: 6
8. Click Update version to update the program to the latest firmware version. The MQS Streaming Server will automatically launch after the update. 9. Open the MQS Streaming Server: 7
10. Upon opening the MQS Streaming Server for the first time, it will automatically scan and add music found on your computer. Click Add Folder or Drag and Drop the music folder you wish you stream. 8
11. The music folder you wish to stream is now added to the streaming list. 9
12. Navigate to the home screen of the AK240 and press the MQS Streaming button: Note: Wi- Fi must be turned on and connected to the same network as The MQS Streaming Server. Please refer to page 42 of the Users Manual for more information on Wi- Fi. 10
13. Connect the AK240 to the ID of the MQS Streaming Server. In this case, we want to connect to the server named: Astell&Kern MQS Streaming Server. 14. Choose a song from your shared files to begin streaming: 11
15. Press & hold a desired song to display options for downloading the song to the AK240. Choose from: [Download OR Selected Download] - Select the appropriate option to download songs. A message on the Notification Bar will indicate a completed download. NOTE: Depending on network conditions, song loading may be slow and music streaming may stutter. MQS Streaming Server response may be slow when the computer is under load. Depending on network conditions and server status, the AK240's performance may be affected simultaneously when streaming and downloading music. Terminating MQS Streaming or stopping the item being downloaded in the Notification Bar of the AK240 will stop all downloads. 12
MQS Streaming Server for Windows - Description of Options: Taskbar Options: 1. Open: Opens the MQS Streaming Server 2. Check for Update: Check for a new software version of the MQS Streaming Server. 3. Exit: Stops the MQS Streaming Server and exit the program 13
Share Tab: 1. Status Indicator: Displays the current server status. Green - Server is operating properly, but no device is connected. Orange - Server is operating properly, and a device is connected. Gray - Server is disabled. 2. Drop Down Menu: Change the list sorting method. 3. Add Folder: Add a new music folder you wish to share. 4. Remove Folder: Removes the highlighted music folder added to the server 5. Remove All: Removes all added folders and libraries from the server Note: The Remove All option does not delete the music folders from your PC 6. Rebuild Library: Updates the library of shared music folders. 7. Restart: Manually restarts the server. 8. Library: Displays the list of user- defined shared music folders. 9. Taskbar: Server is pinned to the Windows Taskbar and closed by clicking the "X" button. 14
Advanced Tab: 1. Server Name: Change the server name to be displayed on the AK240. 2. Server Port: The port number used by the server Note: can be changed in case of overlap with other programs. The server will restart upon confirmation. 3. Start server on system startup: When selected, the server will launch automatically when Windows starts. 4. Rebuild Library on server startup: Library will be automatically rebuilt every time the server starts. 5. Automatically Check for Updates: The program will check for a new version upon launch of the server. 6. Check for Update: Manually check for a new version of the MQS Streaming Server program. 15
About Tab: 1. Version: Displays the current firmware version of the server. 2. Help: Opens the 'MQS Streaming Server Help Guide' in a browser. 16
Quick Notes: The AK240 MQS Streaming Server application is compatible with Windows 7/8 (32&64bit). The MQS Streaming Server may not function properly if your computer s firewall, network settings, and/or if the operating system blocks the MQS Streaming Server s port settings. Ø Note: If the AK240 and your computer are on the same Wi- Fi network, the last three digits of the computer s IP address & the last three digits on the AK240 s IP address are different. ² Example: If the IP address of your computer is 192.168.0.xxx and the AK240 s IP address is 192.168.0.yyy, both AK240 and your computer is on the same network.
