Basic Features Guide This guide will walk you through the basic features and functions of the SpectrumVoIP Phone System. Version 1.1 Placing and Receiving Calls In order to place a call on your Spectrum phone, simply dial the 10-digit number you wish to call, and pickup the handset, press the speaker button, or press Send on the screen. Receiving a call is exactly the same. When your phone rings, just pick up the handset, press the speaker button, or press Answer on the screen. Voicemail Features Check Your Voicemail If there is a new voicemail waiting for you, it will be indicated by a symbol on your phone screen that resembles a cassette tape. Press the Message key to listen.

Record Your Voicemail Greeting 1) Press the Message key on the front of the phone. Refer to the image on the right. 2) In the voicemail audio menu, press option 0 then choose option 1 to record your greeting. 3) After recording the greeting, press # to finish. 4) If you want to re-record the greeting, press 3. If you want to save the greeting, press 1. 5) Once the greeting is saved, you can end the call. Call Transferring Blind Transfer This feature will send the calling party to the target extension without notice. 1)Press the TRAN key on your phone, as shown on the right. 2)Enter the extension (or external number) to which you wish to transfer the call. 3)Press the TRAN key again to complete the transfer. 4)Hang up the phone.

Supervised Transfer This feature allows you to talk to the receiving party before you transfer to call to them. 1)Press the TRAN key on your phone. 2)Enter the extension (or external number) to which you wish to transfer the call. 3)Wait until the target extension answers. You may then talk to them about the transfer before you send it to them. 4)Press the TRAN key again to complete the transfer. 5)Hang up the phone. Transfer Directly to Voicemail This feature allows you to transfer directly to the target extensions voicemail without ringing their phone. 1)Press the TRAN key on your phone. 2)Enter the number 1 + the extension to which you wish to transfer the call. For example, if you want to transfer to extension 201, dial 1201. 3)Press the TRAN key again to complete the transfer. 4)Hang up the phone. Place a Call on Hold This feature allows you to place the caller on hold. You will not be able to hear them, and they will not be able to hear you. They will hear hold music. NOTE: A call that is placed on hold cannot be retrieved from a different extension. See the Parking feature below. To place a call on hold, press the Hold key on your phone. To retrieve the call, simply press Hold again.

Call Parking NOTE: Call parking is only possible on INBOUND calls. Calls that you have placed outbound cannot be parked. Park a Call This feature allows you to place a call on hold in such a way that you can retrieve it from any other extension. 1)Press the Park key. It is the second-to-last speed dial key on the far right, as shown here. 2)Listen for the 3-digit number, and take note of it. The number should be something in the 700 range, like 703. 3)When you hear music, hang up the phone. UnPark a Call This feature allows you to retrieve a call that has previously been parked. 1)Dial the 3-digit number that was given during the parking process. The number should be something in the 700 range, like 703. 2) Pick up the handset, and you will retrieve the call.

Conference Calling This feature allows you to add another call to your existing conversation. 1)During a live call, press the CONF key as shown on the right. 2) Dial the 10-digit number you wish to add to your current conversation. 3) Wait for the other party to answer you call, and inform them of the conference. 4) Press the CONF key again to join both calls together. Intercom This feature allows you to talk to another extension directly without ringing their phone. As soon as you reach their phone, it automatically answers on speakerphone. 1) Dial 2 + their 3-digit extension. For example, if their extension is 201, dial 2101. Once you hear the beep, you can begin talking Call Pickup This feature allows you to answer a call that is not ringing your phone. For example, if you hear the phones at the front desk ringing, but you are in the back and the phone next to you is not ringing, you can still answer it with this feature. 1) When you hear another phone ringing, press the Pickup key on your phone. It is the very bottom speed dial key on the far right. The call will immediately answer on speakerphone. You may choose to pick up the handset at that point if you wish. You can also dial to activate the pickup feature. This maybe necessary if the Pickup Key is reprogrammed.

Paging This feature allows you to make a general announcement to single or multiple phones, but they will not be able to talk back to you. When your Spectrum account is created, you will be given a list of numbers for any Page Groups that you have. 1)Dial the Page Group Number (e.g., 21) 2) Pickup the handset 3) Wait for the beep, then make your announcement 4) Hang up the handset Call Forwarding This feature allows you to forward a single extension to an outside number. NOTE: The forward will ONLY apply to the phone on which you set the forward. The rest of the phones will continue to ring normally. To Forward Your Phone 1)Dial 72 2) Dial the 10-digit number to which you would like to forward. 3) Press Send To UnForward Your Phone 1)Dial 72 2) Press Send

Technical Support Please contact technical support if you experience any of the following issues: - You have a question about how to use a feature - You cannot place or receive calls - Your phone is not functioning properly - You need your main number forwarded to an outside line - You need to change your phone system programming or greeting message - Any other phone-related issue NOTE: Your Spectrum VoIP phones rely 100% on your Internet Connection to function. If you lose your Internet Connection, your phones will not be able to place or receive calls. If you believe you have lost Internet Connection, please contact your Internet Service Provider first.
