What is the AT&T Connect Participant application? The AT&T Connect Participant application is a web based client software that allows a user to actively attend and collaborate in an AT&T Connect live event or view a recorded event. A user connected can speak and/or listen, use graphic tools on the whiteboard, record, share applications and more. What are the minimum requirements needed to setup the Participant application? To setup the AT&T Connect Participant application, a userʹs computer must run either Windows 2000, or Windows XP (SP1 and SP2 are both supported), with either Internet Explorer 6.0 (or higher) or most forms of Netscape 4.7 or higher are supported. The computer must have at least 64 MB of RAM and the monitor must support at least High Color (16 bit) at 800 by 600 resolution. Where can I test my connection in advance? To run an advance system check and test your connection, you may access an automated Getting ready page. Click on the appropriate link in your e mail invitation. Do I need to use my computer speaker s or microphone for audio during a live event? The AT&T Connect service allows for integrated telephone audio (computer audio is also supported if permitted by your companyʹs service administrator). In this case, a user may choose which audio device to use in an event and may switch between devices on the fly. Participants who are connecting via the Web Participant Application, i.e., without installing the AT&T software, will be required to dial in by phone, and cannot use their computer audio. How can I test my computer's audio in advance? Use the Audio Setup Wizard under Audio/video in Participant Application to ensure your configurations are set up to maximize audio quality. 3

How do I use the phone in an AT&T Connect event? If your event is set to allow the use of telephone audio & computer audio, you will be prompted to choose between audio devices phone or computer audio (speakers, microphone or headsets) upon connecting to an event. Upon selecting the Phone icon, you will be prompted with a dial in instructions page. Follow the steps to call the AT&T Connect conferencing center and connect to the event. If you are using both your computer and your phone at the same time, you must connect your computer first and then follow the instructions on the dial in instructions page. How do I mute or un-mute my audio? If using your computer for audio, click on the Un Mute or Mute button to speak or mute yourself respectively. If you are using your phone for the audio, click *6 to mute or unmute yourself. How can I interact using the phone keypad? If you are using your phone for audio during a live event, you may also use your touchpad to graphically interact during a live session. The following phone keypad keys indicate some of the actions available in the Interwise Event: *1 Raise Hand/Lower hand *2 Gives the number of Participants in the Event *4 Step out/step back in the Event *6 Mute/not muted *9 Help (an explanation of the phone functions available is heard) I cannot hear anyone in the event. What should I do? 1 Verify that, in fact, someone is speaking. The audio control panel on the top right corner of the application indicates if someone is speaking. If you are connected with your computer, you may send a note to another computer user. If you are connected by phone, press *2 to verify that others are in fact in the session. 2 Check your computer s speaker volume control. Make sure it is not muted and maximize your sound output. If you connected via the phone, maximize the volume. 3 If you are using headsets or an external microphone, make sure they are plugged into the correct computer slot. 4

4 By using the built in Audio Setup Wizard (Participant Application > Audio/Video > Audio Setup Wizard), check if you can properly run through the audio setup and hear the sound bytes. 5 If problem persists, dial in by phone to event and troubleshoot computer sound issues later. I cannot be heard/speak when using computer audio, what should I do? 1 Verify that you are not muted. Press the mute button on the top of the participant application. 2 Verify that your microphone input level is high enough by using the slide bar on the Participant application. 3 If you are using headsets or an external microphone, make sure it is plugged into the correct computer slot. If you are using a USB microphone or headset, try disconnecting and reconnecting. 4 By using the built in Audio Setup Wizard (Participant Application > Audio/Video > Audio Setup Wizard), check if you can properly run through the audio setup which will test your microphone input. You will temporarily be disconnected from the live event during the audio setup process. 5 Make sure your computer s microphone is not shut off (muted) by clicking on the volume control icon on the system tray. If icon does not appear in system tray, access it from Start >Programs > Accessories > Entertainment >Volume Control (for Windows XP) 6 If in the process of connecting to the event, you chose Do not use Interwise Audio, your microphone will be suppressed.
