The settings may be selected from the last user. FORMAT THE SD CARD: 1. Power ON the GoPro with the SD card inserted by pressing the front (Mode) button. 2. Press the front (Mode) button repeatedly until you see the wrench icon on the camera s screen. 3. Press the top (Shutter) button one time. 4. Press the Mode button repeatedly until you see a trashcan icon. 5. Press the Shutter button one time to select the trashcan icon. 6. Press the Mode button until ALL/Format is highlighted. 7. Press the Shutter button one time to select ALL/Format. 8. Press the Mode button until Yes is highlighted. 9. Press the Shutter button one time to select Yes. Your camera s LED and the trashcan icon will blink to indicate that your SD card is being reformatted.

The battery drains down fast if the Wi-Fi is kept on.
Using the Remote or GoPro App When your Wi-Fi is On, it will use the most recently used Wi-Fi mode and will attempt to connect to that device. Checking if Wi-Fi is Working If a Blue Light is Flashing from the LED, that means that the Wi-Fi is On To Turn Wi-Fi Off Have the GoPro On Press Wi-Fi On/Off Button until you hear a sound and the Blue light stops flashing To Turn Wi-Fi On Same instructions as above, but Blue Light must be flashing NOTE TO USER: When Wi-Fi is On, the GoPro will use the most recently used Wi-Fi mode and will attempt to connect to that device. Download the GoPro App to your smartphone/tablet from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Windows Phone marketplace. b. Open the app and tap "Connect Your Camera." c. Tap "Add New Device." Android - Click on "Choose A Device" and then "Add New Device." d. Tap "HERO3+/HERO3/HERO2. 2. Press the Power/Mode button to power ON your camera. 5. On your smartphone/tablet, tap "Continue. 6. In your smart phone or tablet's Wi-Fi Network settings menu, connect to the camera's Wi-Fi network. You should find the name of your camera listed in your available Wi-Fi networks 7. Once connected to your camera s Wi-Fi network, go back to the GoPro App on your phone or tablet. 3. On your smartphone/tablet, tap "Continue. 4. On your camera, complete these steps: a. Press the Wi-Fi button on the left of the camera as the lens is facing you. b. Press the Wi-Fi button again and look at the camera's LCD screen to see the Wi-Fi option. Now press the Shutter button. c. Press the camera's front Power button to highlight "GoPro App", and then press the Shutter button to select it. Your camera will display a Wi-Fi signal indicating it is producing a network. 1. Note if you don t see GoPro App in the menu along with Wi-Fi RC, then you need to update your camera s software before you can use the GoPro App. You can update your HERO3 software here: http://gopro.com/update. 8. You will be prompted to create a new camera name and password and click "Apply Settings. 9. For ios users: Go back to Settings > Wi-Fi on your phone and select your new camera name, enter the password, then return to the app. 10. Once connected go back to the app and you should be all set! If your HERO3 has never been paired with any smartphone/tablet, follow the instructions to pair the two devices.

From the HERO3+ update page click "Update your camera manually" below "Other Ways to Update" to begin. 2.On the first page, enter your serial number and registration information and then click "Next Step. 3.On the next page, select 'Wi-Fi Update Only' with the blue check mark and click "Next Step. 4.On the next page, enter your new camera name and password. 5.Follow the rest of the on-screen prompts to complete the rest of the update process.
