Polaris-box 6 Unfailing Protection for Fiber-Optic Connections Get more Professional All-rounder for FTTH projects Reliable Dust tight and waterproof housing Efficient Ingenious quick mounting technology

Professional. All-rounder for FTTH projects. «An all-rounder for FTTH connections.» Polaris-box 6. Simply multi-talented Only a few meters to the customer. At last optical fibers are entering our homes. There is a palpable wave of excited anticipation at the prospect of virtually unlimited bandwidth. But what form does fiber optic termination take outside on a mast, on a building, in the cellar or on individual floors of a building? Network operators need differentiated sturdy solutions that can be implemented immediately if they are aiming to get convenient FTTH to subscribers. Because every topology, every district, every road and every building has its own challenges and requirements. A universal solution would not be a bad thing. One platform that can do everything. The solution has a name: Polaris-box from R&M. The box for FTTX terminations in and on buildings offers professional, sturdy, optical connectivity. The Polaris-box 6 sees itself as a talented all-rounder. It can be used in all kinds of premises from a single dwelling unit, such as a family home, to extensive building complexes. From the building entry point (BEP) through risers and floor distributors to the optical termination outlet (OTO). It is suitable for pure splice and splitter applications but also for subscriber connections with pre-terminated cables. All typical FTTH topologies are feasible. Thanks to this flexibility there is a solution for every subscriber and every network operator. Modular, slit sealing elements in the new sealing concept make it possible to lay cables and microducts simply. In connection with the different strain relief possibilities, the sealing elements can be used for a number of different cable types and diameters. 090.7818

Reliable. Dust tight and waterproof. Well protected, also over the last mile The last mile of the FTTH expansion makes even tougher demands of the components used, particularly when these are exposed to the weather. Mechanical and environmental influences, such as temperature, rain and UV radiation, can negatively impact the FO cabling on the last mile to the subscriber. The Polaris-box 6 offers decades of protection to the valuable FTTH terminations. Sturdiness and the seal are two of the exclusive strengths of the R&M solution. With its integrated housing seal, the Polaris-box 6 fulfills the requirements of protection class IP67. It prevents dangerous dust and water from entering the housing. This means it is suitable both for use outdoors and indoors in harsh environments. The housing lid covers the lower seals and cables, thus further increasing the protection. R&M presents a choice of two cable sealing concepts. The basic elements cover the basic functions and guarantee protection class IP54. A unique feature is the two-part, modular seal concept with slit seal elements for cable entries. They offer top protection (IP65) with simple assembly. Flexibility is still guaranteed: Subscriber cables can, for example, be retrofitted modularly per seal bock without negatively impacting those already in operation. 090.7817 «Unique: the two-part seal for cable entries.»

Efficient. Simple handling. «Convenient working on the open box.» Fast installation Speed is a top priority in the roll out of FTTH projects. And that is why R&M ensures simple and thus fast handling with small distributors and housing for fiber optic termination. The Polaris-box 6 has three outside installation points with slotted holes. This means the box can be aligned perfectly in next to no time. Side spacers guarantee even setting up in rows. There is a collocation bridge also in protection class IP65 - for inter-housing cable transfer. The hood can be removed and replaced again without tools at a position of 45. At a position of 120, it locks safely to release the interior for fast installation work. The side walls of the housing are designed as flat as possible to enable convenient, simple and free access to the fiber routing. The housing body contains cable grommets all round. Up to four at the bottom, two at the top and one knock-out cable grommet on each side. The rear knockout turns the box into an optical termination outlet (OTO). In other words, maximum flexibility for all applications. And uncomplicated, fast assembly in every case. 090.7799

Flexible. Variable today and tomorrow. 090.7804 «An upgrade is possible any time.» Free choice in configuration The Polaris-box 6 has a fully integrated fiber management system on the inlay. A well-thought-out concept ensures that the bending radius of the fiber never goes below 30 mm. This protects the fibers long term. The adapter plate integrated in the fiber routing unit allows the following to be accommodated: Up to twelve splice and six connections with SC and E-2000 * Or twelve connections with LC-D (SFF) Additionally there are two separate fiber deposits as well as an integrated fiber ramp with an interface for retrofitting splice trays. An upgrade for connecting new subscribers or changes to the network are possible later at any time. One stack with up to four FMTS splice trays (1TPU) or also two splitter trays (2TPU) fit in the device. The splice trays each accommodate up to twelve fibers with either crimp (ANT) or shrink splice protection (HS). The splitter trays are designed for PLC splitters: With 250 µm fibers for a maximum splitter ratio of 2:32 With pigtail fibers of 900 µm for a maximum split ratio of 2:16 When fully assembled, the box offers up to 60 splice and twelve patch connections in a single housing. * E-2000, manufactured under license from Diamond SA, Losone

Sophisticated. System solutions from R&M. Seamless integration The Polaris-box 6 fits in seamlessly to the R&Mfoxs system family. It assumes a number of tasks on the last few meters to the subscriber in the Single (SDU) and Multi Dwelling Units (MDU) segment. Whether in terms of point to point (P2P) or point to multipoint (P2MP) topologies. Configurations as an optical termination outlet (OTO) or as a floor distributor for riser cables with window section extend the application area in buildings. «Modularity at all levels.» All requirements fulfilled Compact and sturdy fiber optic platforms are clearing the way for FTTH. They help bridge the final few meters into the building. But it is precisely these last meters that place such high demands on cabling systems: Network operators need a coherent range to be able to smoothly organize work in the field. No provider can afford to have interruptions. Permanent operational reliability has top priority. Assembly time is precious. The platforms should be able to be installed fast and without any complications. The situation on site requires freedom of action. This is why the systems should be variable and multifunctional. The broadband market is developing dynamically. The cabling has to be able to be adapted at any time. FTTH investments should be able to yield revenue immediately. That requires a favorable cost/benefit ratio on the side of the infrastructure. The all-rounder Polaris-box 6 fulfills all these requirements compellingly. The box offers network operators decisive value added in the rollout of their FTTH projects, ensuring a safe future. 090.7801
